The University of Memphis will go at least another week without junior forward Wesley Witherspoon, who hasn't played since a Jan. 12 loss at SMU.

Coach Josh Pastner said Witherspoon, who has missed the Tigers' last five games, isn't expected to practice or to play in Memphis' games against Tulsa on Wednesday and at Gonzaga on Saturday as he continues to rehab his right knee.

You on Twitter Ang? Follow basketball analysts from ESPN, CBS, et al. About 10 mins after CBS announced the injury Zags fans got confirmation that he wasn't coming to Spokane (wouldnt be playing, rather). Should have posted it here, I guess. Usually try to remember to post significant things.

Wish him well, but I won't miss him Saturday. Last year's game...all the threes, dunks, and tough d on Elias...Witherspoon was the best player on the floor that day.

This is a big loss for Memphis but don't get overconfident. They had the #1 recruiting class in the nation this past year. Memphis always plays hard.

Witherspoon out for Memphis. Keita and Arop out for Gonzaga. I'd say we're even.

Keita and Arop are not out, unless you know something I don't. Arop played pretty good minutes vs San Diego. Keita played but sparingly. And in case you don't know about Weatherspoon, he's quite a bit better than both Keita and Arop. It's not even close.

If it comes down to it, a win over Witherspoonless Memphis looks less on paper during Selection Sunday. I hope GU just keeps plugging away and finds a way to keep winning games.
