A good preview article (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2011/01/26/SP491HEISV.DTL#ixzz1CFw9nkvi)in the San Fran Chronicle re: tonight's game.

"Our league is no different than the Big Ten, SEC, Pac-10, any other league in that, when you go on the road, it's tough to win," Bennett said. "Gonzaga's done it for so long, people just think that it's a monumental upset. It's not, really."

"Winning in Spokane," Bennett said, "the only importance of that is that it helps you win a conference championship."

"I know what we're headed into," Bennett said. "This is a tough game. Had (the Zags) won, it was going to be a tough game.

"And they lost - it'll be an even tougher game because I'm sure their focus will even be at a higher level."

Nothing but class and respect from Bennett for GU. I thought his comments on the radio link, and reflection on the relationship he has with Saint Mary's, the Christian Brothers, President Br. Ronald Gallagher and his quality of family life make it clear why the grass is not any greener or cut much better than in Moraga.

I'm with all of you Gaels in hoping RB stays there at SMC. He's only good for the WCC.

It really sucks that my favorite sports radio personality (Mitch Levy) doesn't like my favorite coach (Mark Few).

Somehow Mitch felt slighted by Mark and the relationship died before it ever had a chance to flourish.

Mitch loves college hoops and it hurts a bit that he pulls against GU because of his dislike for Few.

If I had Few's ear, I'd tell him he should hold out an olive branch and try to get Mitch on his side. I don't know what happened. It is probably a misunderstanding. Or it may be that Mitch is being an idiot and/or a jerk. All I know for certain is it can't help recruiting in this area when you have a loud voice in the sports media against you.
