Good bits:

"The Bulldogs’ ninth straight win was mostly an inside job. GU (13-5, 3-0 WCC) had a 46-16 edge in points in the paint, led by Robert Sacre’s 18 and Elias Harris’ 14. Steven Gray scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half, including seven in the 19-7 run that finally gave Gonzaga some breathing room."

"At both ends of the court. Sacre and Harris, who looked particularly energetic, were effective offensively throughout. They helped Gonzaga win the boards 22-16 in the second half. Sacre finished with five blocked shots."

' “Most teams in the country don’t have the size we do,” Stockton said. “One thing I know I can do is just throw it to them every time and odds are they can make a play.” '

And here comes an outstanding Day-After Report from Jim (http://www.spokesman.com/blogs/sportslink/2011/jan/16/day-after-loyola-marymount/).

Then he shared a little bulletin board material from Kerry Keating. No debate, really?

Santa Clara head coach Kerry Keating called the Gaels "the best team in our league right now. I don't think anyone would debate that."

He could very well be right. Not sure that it isn't debatable though. I think it will be very interesting to see if GU can shut down or at least slow down Saint Marys' high powered offense (especially with how much they like to shoot the three).
Curious to see if we can make them pay in the paint with Sacre and Harris as well. Harris had some monster games against SMC last year. He was the reason we came out of Moraga with a win in my mind (plus Sacre did a great job defensively on Samhan).

Keating hates evrything gonzaga. I doubt that he would give GU a complement if Few saved his family from a burning building. That being said he's right ATM

I'm all for playing all the teams before declaring who is best. I'm also for dumb coaches with big mouths saying things just before we play him. Love it.

I can understand a coach saying "SMC is playing like the best team in the league right now" after getting plastered by 20+. It is "no debate" portion of the comment that really bugs me, especially since GU's been the top team in the conference for so long. If SMC can sweep GU this year, then go for it, but that is a very big if and there is still a lot of basketball still to be played.
