    Parrish: Friday Look Ahead, Illinois/Gonzaga

Another interesting matchup: Elias Harris is expected to play Saturday, which good news for Gonzaga. The bad? He'll likely be playing at less than 100 percent because of an Achilles tendon that isn't torn but still isn't quite right, and that's not ideal heading into this game against 20th-ranked Illinois in Seattle. The Illini are coming off a double-digit win over North Carolina, and they're only loss is an overtime defeat to 19th-ranked Texas. Bruce Weber's team is talented and deep, and it'll take a special effort for the Zags to avoid their third loss in seven games.

Regarding Illinois---Gonzaga coach Mark Few said. “They have everybody back and they’re a year older, I really think they’re a top 10 type squad.”
Doesn't Coach Few say this about every non-conference team we play?

      Sure seems like it...

      Meehan's game preview here.
“You’ve got to hit the Zag standard.”

And if it happens, those rites of Autumn become the rites of Spring.

Let 'em pick Illinois. I like it better when we play as the underdog, makes it more meaningful when we pull out the game.

        Go Zags!
