    Monninghoff > Kong?

Is it too early to ask this question? Just wondering....

It looks like Mathis has quickly caught on to what his initial role will be on this team offensively- to spot up outside the arc at the wing or baseline, and pump em' in. So far so good.

The difference could be his defensive ability... he shows good footwork and tenacity. There's a lot to like so far IMHO.

    Monninghoff>Arop?

    Not just an academic comparison.

    Time will tell.

It's not too early for me. Monninghoff is just a better overall player, period.

Well, he'll contribute more this year anyway.

Id rather just have him be his own player. He gets the Downs comparison although we havent seen the dunks yet, he'll get the Kong shooting thing although Hyland is probably closer to that one but Hoff can move the ball, D up, shoot and seems to work his butt off. Let him be him. And heres to hoping Manny finds that groove again.

I love how the Hoff plays. Seems to have some grit and hustle about him. Lots to like from the very small sample size. Plus hitting 60% from 3 certainly doesn't hurt. A few floor burns from the kid and we'll be calling him the next Pend-o.

                    Hoff

I'm excited to see what he can bring. Reminds me of a cross between Downs and Bankhead. Equals amazing!

                      Frahm

I think has some Frahm. Good to great athlete, sweet stroke from outside, and tough competitor. He has shown great hops with offside rebounds. Like Richie, he is too tall for the other side's guards and he is too quick for an opponent's forward. If Goodson hits that first shot or two, then he must be guarded. Meech then breaks down the guard and dishes to SG or MM.

I like the looks of this team. Come on Manny - find the confidence.

ditto: especially his defense and rebounding. Both good shooters.

So far, in the shooting dept, Monninghoff has a quicker release, which is good. Kong dropped off a lot after a few games at least partially because his shooting motion was too slow. We'll have to see if Monninghoff can keep up the great shooting, but so far he's shown himself to be pretty good.

                            The scouting report is out.

Will be interesting how the 'Hoff responds to being guarded more closely.

After Bol started to command defense along the perimeter, his 3pt%(and effectiveness) began to decline significantly.

I'm confident Mathis is up for the challenge.

                              THERE WILL BE ANOTHER KONG!

Kong was a legend, bigger than a legend, bigger than Morrison, Bigger than Turiaf, Bigger than Dickau....and that was before he even played one game here...
