STORRS, Conn. -- Connecticut forward Ater Majok has withdrawn from school after playing just 26 games for the Huskies.

O'Neil: Another blow

Losing Ater Majok is not only a disappointment for UConn coach Jim Calhoun; it also leaves the Huskies vulnerable at center, writes Dana O'Neil. Blog

The school made the announcement Wednesday. No reason was given.

The 6-foot-10 Majok is a former refugee from Sudan who came to UConn from Australia, where his family had relocated after spending years in an Egyptian refugee camp.

He enrolled at UConn in 2008, but questions about his academic qualifications left him ineligible to play before last fall.

Majok entered his name into the 2009 NBA draft before withdrawing later.

He averaged just over two points and three rebounds as a freshman for the Huskies.

Did we ever think Bol's reason for leaving was due to the state of his home? Some seemed a bit bitter.

Mods feel free to move, but I figured this relevant.

I know Bol from high school and he is crazy lazy when it comes to academics. Im guessing he failed out and had no motivation. So now he is going to NAIT, which is awful considering he played at GU last year. How the mighty have fallen ( I was big time rooting for him but he let BC down).
