I can't imagine where these kids get the stamina!

Gary and Seattle Rotary are in Arizona at the Duel in the Desert (http://www.desertduelmemorial.com/tournament.html). Team list at the very bottom of the page. Friends of Hoop is also playing, so maybe Darien Nelson-Henry will draw some notice.

Kyle Wiltjer and the soldiers are at the Best of Summer (http://www.doublepump.com/tournaments.html) in LA. Scroll down the page to the Best of summer and click on the bracket schedule, which opens an Excel file. I didn't see any startlingly interesting teams aside from the Soldiers, but maybe you'd do better.

The kids are dragging by now. The heat, the A/C, the hotels, the food, the hot humid gyms, the multiple games per day...

Wow. Friends of Hoop beat the Dallas Mustangs at the Duel in the Desert. Congrats to Darien Nelson-Henry and the rest of FOH. Presumably LeBryan Nash was on the Mustangs team.

Darien needs to improve and crank up his motor. If he does these things, he has a chance.

Good luck to the good guys.

Boy, there is next-to-no-pub about the Pump's Best of Summer tournament results. Only thing I've found is this from a NorCalPreps (Rivals) (http://norcalpreps.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1106976) story:
Drew Gooden Soldiers brought their strong play from Las Vegas and cruised to two first day victories. The Soldiers defeated 1 Tough School (Southern California) 72-57 and Next Level Select-Colorado 72-45. Both games were heavily viewed by both NCAA coaches and the general public as the Soldiers athleticism and teamwork was at display.

EvanDanielscout There may be 4 games left here @ the Desert Duel but most have checked out. A lot yawning and tired people.

Gary Bell (Seattle Rotary, 2011)- The Gonzaga commitment had a stretch on Wednesday where he was unguardable. With Mark Few courtside, Bell scored at all three levels, made some physical plays in the lane and dished off a couple assists.

Thing I like most about the big kid is that he defends very well within the perimeter. Blocks lots of shots and could block more if he develops the mindset that "I am the goal keeper and no one's going to score on me."
He also throws a very effective outlet pass. He kind of plays in the Kevin Love mode but he has to learn to take his intensity level up a few degrees--and Love was more polished as an eleventh grader. Runs the floor OK but has to improve his conditioning so that he doesn't take plays off. Still, he's not out of shape like Josh Smith, who will need a Jenny Craig crash diet once he hits UCLA.
