I just noticed on kris josephs twitter he is attending training camp in toronto for the canadian senior mens team. Any word on the other invitees? or who everybody thinks should be invited? I got a few names, Bol Kong, Harouna Mutombo, Andrew Nicholson, Jared Mintz, Sefton Barrett, Patrick Tatham, Tristan Blackwood, to name a few

I'm pretty sure that the players you mentioned aren't part of the senior team, but of a new mens developmental team.

This story on oyetimes (http://www.oyetimes.com/sports/78-basketball/4518-canada-basketball-presents-training-camp-roster-for-2010) has the roster, training cmp schedule, and competition schedule.
Canada Basketball announced the 2010 Development Menís National Team (DMNT) tryout/training camp roster, camp schedule and international competitions for the summer season. The camp runs from July 11-16 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ont, followed by a competition tour in Europe.

From July 17 Ė August 2, the DMNT will play a series of exhibition games against Cote DíIvoire, Belgium, Great Britain, Finland, Netherlands and Spain. Following the tour, athletes from the team will be selected to continue with the Senior Menís National Team (SMNT) training camp beginning in August.Should be a nice experience for Kelly.

Very doubtful that Juan plays for Canada again.

I would like to see the return of Steve Nash!

Why is it some people want to see scrubs on the national team. Juam Mendez was given a chance and flunked out, there are better players willing to play a role that are better for the team. Juan is a 4 who wanted to be a three, does he play over Kendall, Anthony, Bonner(?), Young, I don't think so. If he was a wing we would look at him, with the recent loss of Rowan Barret and David Thomas there is a need for an experienced wing....but all our top prospects are too young right now.

From Canada Basketball's Development Camp - Day 1 (http://www.raptorshq.com/2010/7/14/1568780/canada-basketballs-development)

"Kelly Olynyk is one tall dude! I recall the Gonzaga basketball site listing him at 6í10" but had to have grown some since the start of last season. In the post drills, he was standing alongside the other bigs and in sequence he stood beside both Kyle Landry and Marc Trasolini. Olynyk looked like he was easily three or four inches taller than Traz and Landry who are both listed at 6í9". Olynyk had to have put on a couple inches this year."

Olynyk made the final development roster.

Jesse Young did not. Not sure if this was so as to give the younger guys more time, or because of injuries, or some other reason.

Other surprises were Kris Joseph not making it (or perhaps it is not such a big surprise given his heated exchanges with L. Rautins) nd Jevohn Shepard making it (I don't think he was on the list of people at the tryout camp).
