There is a replay of Pargo's Galil Gilboa team's Semi-final game against Jerusalem yesterday here on Triangle TV (http://www.triangleinternet.tv/?utm_source=jpost&utm_medium=sportsbanner728x90&utm_campaign=SportsLeaderboard) (Jeremy leading scorer in that game with 13 points) and they will be broadcasting the Finals against Maccabi Tel Aviv (http://www.triangleinternet.tv/?utm_source=jpost&utm_medium=sportsbanner728x90&utm_campaign=SportsLeaderboard) tomorrow morning at 1:55 PM ET (10:55 AM PT).

Pretty nice quality video, with English-speaking announcers. (summary of Pargo at the start of the game, "Great kid, great player.") Pargo is #4.

Feel free to move this to the Old Dogs forum if you wish.

I enjoyed watching the game...the announcers were pretty good. Not Doug Collins or the Human Biting Machine, but sill good.

It was nice seeing Jeremy take it to Pooh Jeter a few times also.

Did anyone see the crowd behind the backboard?
It was like the Kennel Club on Barry Bond juice with everyone replacing their blood with Red Bull and doing shots of 5 hour energy.

Best of luck, Jeremy!

Thanks for the Link ZN. I've watched the first half so far. Pargo 3 pts 1-2ft and 2 fouls. Pargo's team down 8 at the half. The announcers had said the team they are playing against have won 38 out of 40 championships for this league. Talk about dominance.

Jeremy just hit a great three to bring Galil Gilboa within three points. Six points for Jeremy so far.

Is that coach a reincarnated Ariel Sharon?

Anouncer describes Pargo as a guy who says, "Climb on my back! I'll take you there!"

Now Galil with 5 minutes left is up by ten!

Nice! Didn't get to watch it, but glad to hear Pargo is kicking some butt! Wonder how much time he spent working on those 3s - OTOH, he shot well in big games when called upon (like UConn his jr year when he torched them from 3 after they backed way off him).

Galil makes history with the win, and Jeremy earns a hug from his coach for his 15 points!

Jeremy, alter your appearance and change your name. We want you back.
Notice, I got through that without any Meech-bashing. Sorry, just a touch of off-season delirium.

Today's game showed live and isn't up in recorded version yet, for those who want to watch later. I'd expect to see it posted tomorrow. In the meantime, here's pretty good game story on Haaretz.com (http://www.haaretz.com/print-edition/sports/basketball-oded-katash-brings-maccabi-to-its-knees-1.292685). (Jerusalem Post should have something up tomorrow.):
Basketball / Oded Katash brings Maccabi to its knees
By Ariel Zilber

Prior to the Final Four, Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Pini Gershon said the semifinal system was set up to thwart the perennial Israeli monolith. Last night, Gershon's words proved prophetic.

Hapoel Gilboa/Galil Elyon shocked the defending champions 90-77 in the Super League final at Yad Eliahu in Tel Aviv last night to win the national championship.

Before last night's game, observers wondered how Gilboa/Galil would overcome its height disadvantage against heavily favored Maccabi. Yet it was Gilboa/Galil's feline quickness and deadly perimeter shooting that proved the difference in crunch time, as Oded Katash's charges staved off a furious fourth quarter rally.

Forward Dion Dowell, who was nowhere to be found in the first half, exploded in the final quarter, pushing his team to a double-digit lead with three-point shooting and timely baskets.

Maccabi, which was plagued by foul trouble in what was a tightly officiated ballgame, had no answer for Gilboa's diminutive yet dynamic guard, Jeremy Pargo, who dominated the third quarter with slicing penetration and precision shooting from outside. Gershon's crew had focused their defensive efforts in stopping Gilboa's impressive power forward, Elishay Kadir.

Yet it was Dowell, Pargo and Brian Randle who provided Katash's team with the lift it needed. Randle led the way with 19 points on 8-13 shooting from the floor, while Dowell chipped in 15 points, including three-of-four from three-point range. Pargo also scored 15 points and hauled in seven rebounds.
Yet Maccabi did manage to mount a comeback late, thanks to a huge three-pointer from Anderson as well as unforced errors by Pargo and Guny Izraeli. Gilboa's porous free-throw shooting also opened the door for the Men in Yellow to reclaim their throne.

The victory proved doubly sweet for Katash, the coach who resigned from Maccabi in January 2008. Last night, he lifted the championship trophy on his former team's home court and in full view of the club's management. Meant to speak to you about those unforced errors, Jeremy ...

See you in Spokane this summer?

Great job Jeremy. Also, smart as it looks like the bobcats are interested. http://thehoopsmarket.blogspot.com/2010/05/charlotte-bobcats-interested-in-jeremy.html

It might mean Jeremy took the right road to his NBA career. He got far more playing time and in serious competition rather than sitting on a NBA bench as the third option PG, or playing ball hogging useless D league. Producing on the road against a dominating opponent in a championship game shows a lot to NBA execs.

The Charlotte Bobcats are interested in Jeremy Pargo, brother of Jennaro Pargo, from the Chicago Bulls. The Bobcats have invited Pargo, playing in his rookie year in Israel for Galil Gilboa to the next Summer League, in Las Vegas. The 24-year-old guard, who has just won the Israeli Super League against Maccabi, has averaged 14.1 points and 4.7 assists per game.
As an aside, if I recall correctly, Alan Anderson, who had a terrible game for Maccabi, played in Charlotte with Adam during his time there.

Hope something great comes out of Summer League!
