Kiddwell (as well as you, fellow board members, methinks) has been reading all sorts of contradictory height figures for GU's men b-ballers. So, someone who actually knows, how big are our scholarship players...really! :o

*Sacre is pretty much established at 7-0, but...

*Kelly O at one time was touted at having hit 7-0, but now folks are saying 6-11
*Meech, 5-10 or 5-11
*Steven, 6-4 or 6-5
*Manny Arop, 6-5 or 6-6
*Sam "I Am" Dower, 6-9, 6-10, or 6-11
*Elias Harris, 6-7 or 6-8
*Bol Kong, 6-6, 6-7, or 6-8

:]

You won't know their real heights until and unless they get measured barefoot prior to the NBA Draft (http://www.draftexpress.com/article/A-Historical-Look-at-the-NBA-Pre-Draft-Measurements-2912/).

I may be mistaken, but I believe the heights shown on gozags.com are with shoes on.

We need to load up the big blue bus and truck all our players up to my house so I can measure them officially against my kitchen door jamb, where I have carefully painted around the penciled notations of my basket-ball playing nephew's growth, which, sadly, topped out at 6'7", but a true 6'7". Ain't no shoes allowed when lining up against ZN's kitchen door jamb.

Do you have to clean the toe jam from your door jamb? :p

It's a mix. Gray's all of 6'5".
Sam is a true 6'9"...taller with shoes.
KO's 6'11".
Elias is 6'7" just a smidge over.. I thought he was taller. He's not.....but he could be!;)
Aron's 6'5".
Others are pretty accurate. But they play bigger!

ZN, your posts are so often charming. Abe, have you a reliable height for Bol? He looks on the TV a good couple inches taller than Manny.

If they're Earth Shoes from the late 70's.

If Elias is "only" 6-7 (which puts him 8" taller than Kiddwell and 64" taller than Kiddwell's faithful dog "Towzer," by the way), then Elias' height provokes an interesting question relative to his best NBA position.

Coach Few (5-8 3/4 and a world-class 10.2 seconds 100-meter dash) & Co. have done a great job of recruiting quality height over recent years. It's one thing getting big guys who are stiffs and quite another getting big guys who can play (our present roster, in the latter instance).

Anyone out there got a reliable height for Bol?

After watching the new PSA featuring KO and Courtney, it looks like KO is nearing the 8 foot mark.

I think it's worth mentioning that an athletic 6-7 player with a huge wingspan can play taller than a 6-11 kid. I don't think enough attention is paid in basketball to a player's wingspan. It's the great equalizer. See Manny Arop. Even at 6-5 he took away a ton of rebounds last season from guys who were in some cases five inches taller than him. And it wasn't just heart....he could get to balls that the big guys couldn't.

You're going to discover this with Sam Dower next season. Even at 6-9, he could very well play taller than Rob Sacre, who is 7-0.
