Watching PHX/SA just now and they showed Ronny watching the game between 2 of his friends Boris Diaw and Tony Parker. The announcer referred to him as "former laker, Ronny Turiaf"

Is he a Free Agent now?

She corrected herself right away and later when they showed him sitting in the stands the graphic identified him as "Laker forward." He's still a Laker. ESPN describes his status as a Laker thus:

Limited Salary Protection: Ronny Turiaf (no salary protection if waived before opening day, thereafter full)

Fan favorite-- Kobe favorite-- Very low salary for his production--- (plus they have seen tv ratings from the huge Spokane market spike for lakers games since he has been there)--

I hope he gets to stay there since there are so many lakers games on tv and it is good to get to see him so much----

uhhh...huge Spokane market?

Spokane county = 475,000 people

Greater Los Angeles area = 15,000,000 people

That so-called "huge" Spokane market doesn't even make a dent in Laker ratings.

If anyone from any market turns on an NBA game they would be a ratings spike, so there probably is a ratings spike caused by Zag fans when Rony plays. For many it may be the only reason to watch an NBA game.:D

Perhaps. Or perhaps just for the cynical minority who like to beat a dead horse.

Pretty sure Zagdawg was employing the literary tool of sarcasm, Bolt. If you haang around long you'll see it employed liberally.

Sorry if the sarcasm was not as clear as I would have hoped-- but either way Ronny is a great representative from Spokane---

Laker fans discuss whom to build the team around. The only unanimous choices are Kobe and Ronny.

Even the cynical LA fans know they got someone special.

Because the Laker fans are so cynical is exactly why they can spot the geniune article.
