So the 6A player of the year is a pg, which as everyone knows we are in dire need of, yet we didn't even recruit him, and he signs with our rival SMC, who is loaded with pg's. UGH!!! :(

Native, I know you're going to take my post as treasonous, and sacrilegious, but despite my unwavering trust in Few, I gotta believe this was a mistake.

Here's the 2 page thread on Holt from a few weeks back:

Am I that transparent? Apparently I am. :p In Few we trust. Can't wait for next season; oh well, at least I've got BSU football to hold me over.

As the recruiting world goes, Holt has already been locked for a while. When we were in the hunt, we already had capable guards...thus a moot point.

That said, Holt is going to be very very good in the WCC. I would have loved to sign him.

According to Bob, in the thread that I linked to, we were never in the hunt for Holt (try saying that 10x's fast), Few didn't try to recruit him. Oh well, water under the bridge, SMC will be back court loaded for years to come with MC, Delly, Page and now Holt, thankfully they seem woefully undersized with the lose of Omar and Ben and the surprising non commitment of Rob Loe, who chose St. Louis of all places. We're gonna have a good rivalry with SMC for the next few years; makes for a stronger conference.

I meant "hunt" for guards...Gibbs, then Meech, probably others.

SMC and LMU

SMC will be back court loaded for years to come with MC, Delly, Page and now Holt,

In addition the players mentioned, SMC activates the highly talented & athletic guard, Tim Harris (http://rivals.yahoo.com/georgiatech/basketball/recruiting/player-Tim-Harris-73842), who can play PG, SG, & SF. Mr. Harris held offers from nearly every WCC school, along with Nebraska, San Diego St, & Toledo.

Plus, former San Diego Torrero forward, Rob Jones, will be eligible to play for St. Mary's next season as well. He averaged 10ppg & 5.5rpg as a sophomore for the USD. He should be an instant impact player/starter for the Gaels.

SMC isn't going away anytime soon, that is for certain.

Saw Holt twice on TV and was tremendously impressed.

I'm curious if anyone knows if he was that good as a jr, or did he blow up late? He hit some 3's in the games I saw, and his ft's look decent, but some have said he's not really much of a shooter. Anyone know how he shoots overall?
