Dwayne Polee, a 6-7 SF for Westchester H.S. (California) (Graded 89/ #41 SF by ESPN) verbally committed to play basketball at U.S.C. back when he was in the eighth grade as a 14 year old. (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/college/2010/02/07/2010-02-07_recruiting_stunt_raises_bigger_ncaa_concern.htm l). But that was in Tim Floyd's day, and according to an LA Times article posted yesterday, Polee, a senior now, has reopened his recruiting, and has "Georgia, Nevada Las-Vegas, Gonzaga and Rutgers pursuing him." (http://articles.latimes.com/2010/mar/04/sports/la-sp-0305-sondheimer-20100305) Polee is described as being a crowd favorite for Westchester High since he was 15 and showing off his 40-inch vertical leap.

I have a friend who is pregnant. USC was asking her if they could secure a verbal.

Intriguing to say the least...

I wonder if the Coaches are just interested in adding another talented, athletic forward to the mix for next season and/or do the Coaches know something about Elias Harris and a potential void at F next season? Hmmm...

Re: Dwyane Polee Jr, I've heard UNLV is the favorite at the moment and has been in hot pursuit since last Fall.

That said, considering Dwayne Polee Sr.(Dwayne's Dad) played his college ball at Pepperdine in the early 80's, maybe the family holds an affinity towards the WCC as a whole and smaller, tight-knit schools with terrific bball programs and great educations? There is always a chance.

Maybe the baby could have been carted around in a tiny SUV!

add a redshirt year and there will be a need for a small forward.

This kid plays in my backyard. He is one of the only players I have seen play high school hoops live, where I left the game going wow... if that kids not in the NBA some day, ill be shocked... the funny thing is he was only a HS Freshman at the time, playing on the States # 1 ranked team. The kid is a freak athletically. Think Amare Stoudemire hops.... totally different player... but he has that type of jumpin ability. You guys would love him. Although he does have a little attitude.....

For Hops alone I want this kid. Damn. Looks like he slashes well (these promo vids are always dunks, dunks, dunks or three's, three's, three's depending on what the kid does).

holy crap can he jump! Again I would worry that its another case of dominating against lesser opponents and then suddenly college ball is a big wake up but he is one to watch for sure.

I saw this kid jump, and thought he should be wearing a cape and saving cats caught in trees !!!!
His offensive game was totally dependent on his crazy athleticism, but I think he can improve in all aspects. He's like the "Willie Mays Hayes" of basketball......Can't hit?? Just bunt, and it's a double.

(My shooting angle makes it seem like he's headed for the roof.)
