It's 20 years ago that Hank fell against Portland. His death, although sudden and tragic, has brought awareness to prevention and treatment of a condition that has affected many athletes. Including none other than our Ronny Turiaf.

ESPN has a tribute to him and will be releasing a full length mini-film on the story of that team. See the preview below.

No overtime this day and without Hank Gathers,the year 1990 Long Beach Arena.

I lived right down the road from the arena in those days,2 nd round in the dance and Michigan was last years champ.

Just watched a replay of the game and again marveled watching that team put it together,Bo Kimble had a average game 37 points,another kid had 44,they could all shoot and run,truely a one of a kind team,and a trip down memory lane for me.

I was watching the game the nite he died,we just thought he lost his footing when he went down never thinking it was anything more,a real shame,he and those kids were a great bunch.
