Pretty interesting to see Memphis as a 1. We're at 11, up from i think 15 in the last one. Encouraging words from Few, the season can't start soon enough.

Glad to see Washington clawed its way on to the list!!! Just barely.

I actually think they will be pretty tough this year. Too bad we won't get to see how tough they are first hand.

I had been suggesting to some people, prior to the updated Katz list, that if everyone stays in the draft that I expect to stay in, Memphis might be the best team in the country next season......

Six Pac 10 teams and Gonzaga all in the top 15 (and all ahead of Duke).

Wow, just wow.

Humm. We take Memphis into double o.t. with half the firepower we will have next year and Memphis is a preseason #1.

Future is so bright, we gotta wear shades!

Memphis will be a different animal next season once it is under the direction of Derrick Rose, who I feel will have the largest impact on his team of any division one freshman in the nation next season. God couldn't have created a more perfect player for any program. He's just what the Tigers need: a pure, team first point guard with extreme athleticism and talent that can direct all of the athletic slashers and big men that they have.

Losing Jeremy Hunt will be tough though - he hit a lot of clutch shots for the Tigers this past year.

But yes, all of the defections to the NBA seem to be making the college basketball landscape less intimidating next season.

Apparently Fox thinks we're chopped liver.

I completely agree with Katz on GU's latest ranking. Assuming everyone stays in 2008-2009, we could be pre-season top 5.

It just amazes me 1 guy sees us as an 11 and fox doesnt even seem to see us. Its gonna be a great year...

Jeff Goodman is an idiot. I have had a running email thread with this guy for years now and he rarely shows any respect for Gonzaga, but that's what happens when you give an idiot a keyboard and a title.

Zags won't be out of the top 20 all year IMO. They climb as high as #4 and finish the regular season at 28-5. Yes, I am getting pumped and the thought of next year gives me the goose bumps.

Katz continues to impress me on his knowledge of college BB. I have never had a problem with anything he says

On Katz, I have to disagree. He would stand a fighting chance of being good, but too many years at the 4-letter network has turned his brain into ACC-loving mush.

IMHO, the Zags will open the season somewhere between 18-22.

very surprised to not see us even mentioned by Winn... personally i prefer it that way. GU has a tendency of doing better when they have something to prove....

more like going to the elite eight and then the sweet 16 as double digit seeds(99 and 00), or gutting it out and making it into the tourney last year.
