In no paricular order--

1. Exhibition Game (Alberta?)
2. Midmajor team (Game #1 of CBE Classic in K2)
3. Midmajor team (Game #2 of CBE Classic in K2)
4. K-State/Marquette/Duke (Game #3 of CBE Classic in KC)
5. Marquette/Duke/K-State (Game #4 of CBE Classic in KC)
6. Xavier
7. Illinois (Battle in Seattle)
8. @Wake Forest
9. @WSU
10. Memphis (#1 ranked recruiting class coming in)
11. Arizona State (Wooden Classic in Anaheim)

I will "assume" a couple regional games like EWU, Idaho, Montana, PSU will be scheduled, along with some far-flung teams of similar caliber. I'll also "assume" the staff secure at least one more "big" team, ala Notre Dame or Tennessee or someone like that, and/or a team like a MWC school.

Impressions?

Only low majors at K2 after finals week and after Xmas break........

Isn't Michigan State in there again? I thought we had a 2 for 1 deal going with them?

MSU comes to K2 in 2011/12.

The Zags-Sparty series is home-and-home. I'm not aware of a two-and-one. I doubt Few would go for that.

if we lose 2 or 3 we don't play 4,5 right?

Sounds like a tough pre-season tourney. KState and Duke only lose one starter each... Duke loses Scheyer and Zoubek, but you gotta figure that the Plumlees will fill in for Zoubek.

I see Marquette graduating 3 senior starters, but still... Buzz Williams is a heck of coach.

Nope. GU will go to KC regardless of the outcomes of the first two games of the CBE.

Really? That seems odd. So it isn't a true "tournament", then?

This year Iowa was one of the four regional host schools. They lost a game to Duquesne played on Iowa's home court, but nonetheless Iowa went to KC for the final.

UW played in this one a couple years ago, too. It's a ridiculous concept, but whatever.

As for Bob's question ... sounds like maybe the toughest schedule yet.

Fwiw, I believe the Zags will open with K-State. K-State is just across the river from KC and I don't envision K-State wanting to play Duke to start things off, so I think K-State plays Gonzaga. Marquette or Duke will be GU's second game in KC.

But that's just my theory. :)

I think we should focus on this year as we have great potential and worry about next year in May!

It looks like there might be an opening to take up UW on that Key Arena offer.

I've also heard Gonzaga is close to scheduling Syracuse and Duke in K2 for three straight years........

GOOD ONE Bronco!! lolllllll....all we have to do now is get a Kennel---MSG...Kennel situation going with the Celtics too....

love the schedule BZ details though.... hope the kids don't have travel millions of miles though. The OCC is where basketball really is or should be for this school. It's the most rewarding and interesting part of the dream. Took lots of courage to egt this type of thing going and it take HUGE courage and motivation to keep it going.

I was under the impression that this was a four game deal with MSU. That they play a neutral game next year (Spokane Arena?)

Yikes! Both my schools going head-to-head? Of course, I'll have to cheer for the Zags.

There was talk of GU playing in a double header to open up the new basketball stadium in Eugene and I must admit I was excited but the plans are now for it not to open until the first game of teh Pac Ten- all the pre season games will be in MacCourt as the new one will not be ready.

It'll be early December of 2011, if it happens.
