Guard the 3-point shooters like your life depends on it and play SMC"S Bigs straight up.

Simple rule: 2-pointers do not beat the Zags. Only 3-pointers beat the Zags. In the WCC.

Okay,

Comprende'?

Also someone needs to remind Rob to watch his P's and Q's when it comes to defending so that he doesn't get 2 quick fouls. We need some big minutes from our bigs who should be playing one on one D if we are planning on pulling off the BZ mantra.

I'll look for help at the boards and hopefully some early foul trouble for Omar & Delly (as well as our avoiding our own foul trouble).

SMC looks more desperate.

Rob and Will just need to keep their hands straight up in the air when defending the paint. Rob especially gets scored on a lot because he doesnt have his hands up when someone is trying to back him down.

Play with quick feet and hands up.

rob knows Samhan just ate him up, devoured him, and spit out his bones in the second half in Moraga. In fact, the entire front line was at fault. Too many easy layups. But there were serious problems with perimeter d. Steven has to stick with Delladracula like super glue. And Meech has to do likewise with McConnell. For once ,I'd like to see Sacre have a decent first half. If he comes out of the box like Bobby Casual, Few has to have the courage to pull him, even if it's three minutes into the game. Five to eight minutes of Will might tire Omar 38D and in so doing pick up two or three fouls out of frustration.

Agreed. Wasn't it Joe Louis who famously said "everyone has a game plan until they get hit." Well, that is how I see this game. Whoever responds the best to adversity. Can SMC handle the environment? Guard the three-point line and staying home on the bigs sounds great and all, but what if Omar starts going off? He nearly brought SMC back last time around. Both teams are heading into this game with a game plan. The team that makes the best adjustments (or any at all) will win, IMO.

Love it. The resemblance is uncanny. :lmao:

Gonzaga really look the part of world beaters when they play tight defense. They may not have the offensive efficiency of teams past, but they have the ability to absolutely bring it with the "D".

I will go out on a limb and say that tonight, not only will they defend the perimeter, but they will defend the post and in the process make Omar seem positively pedestrian out there.

Nah, some way somehow, the ol' Samham will get his 20, the guy is one of the best ever in the WCC. But, make him WORK for it, make him commit some fouls, tire him out, keep the others off guard and earn ourselves a nice comfy 10 point win. Send Samham out the way he deserves, with another great performance and another LOSS!

Zagco was glad the 3-point line was moved back, but he still thinks it's too close. He can't figure out why it's not at the international distance.
