This is a great championship game by two very good teams. The Gaels pound on the Zags inside with body blows from Samhan. But the Zags sustain their energy and begin connecting all over. The teams trade long range missels. But in the end it's the team with the better DEFENSE that wins. The Gaels give all they have and are worthy opponents. But they end up very disappointed because they still can't beat the Zags, even with their best game of the year. The Zags prove to have a better bench and better defense, and has been said a lot, "Defense wins championships.

Zags by double digits.

There will be no let down for this one. I expect they will play their best game of the season and erase any doubts. The legacy of those consecutive titles will be plenty motivation.

Who wants to be known as the team that broke the string?

Another high scoring affair with GU coming out on top. We limit the damage on the 3's, but they still get their outside points to stay close. Samham gets his average, but has to take a lot of shots to get it.

This is in overtime. Samhan scores the winning basket, and after the final buzzer, he is so excited about finally beating the Zags on their home court, he drops his shorts, spreads his cheeks, and gives a gigantic moon to the entire Kennel Club. This is caught on ESPN and miraculously is their #2 play of the day (a pretty standard Lebron James dunk is #1). He is suspended for the rest of the season, and St. Mary's loses all of their final games, meaning they are one and out in the WCC tournament and don't even get an invite to the NIT. When asked about his move, Samhan states, "it was totally f'ing worth it".

Samhan: a quiet 20-12

The predominant theme of rivalry week has been winning on the road: Illinois @Wisc, Purdue @ MSU, Duke @ UNC, Nova @West VA. In keeping with this theme, I think the Zags go down to SMC. Don't like to say it, but I think the Gaels will have our number, and the officiating will be atrocious--worth at least 10 point swing. I hope I'm wrong. Zags 74 SMC 78.

We crawl up into their grills and stay there. The Gaels have their lowest point total of the year. Zags 82 Gaels 49

1st, I want to believe your a Zag fan.

2nd, when LIZF posts a lopsided score against Zags I consider it a superstition and expect it.

When someone else posts as you did above without a sarcasm tag then I think you're serious. You're kidding right?

We play the "D" we are capable of and the Gaels will be hoping someone else beats us at the WCC tournament so they don't have to play us again

We can lose any game but folks we're playing to win the hiccups are over and every team member knows what's at risk. As stated above who wants to be a member of the Zag team that lost the conference streak

Zags cruise by the Gaels with the game never really in doubt, the score will be closer than the game. :D

Zags 79 - Gaels 68

Just my opinion

Go!! Zags!!!

Zags prevail 84-80...overtime game...both teams play well but Foster's extra effort is key as is Arop's rebounding. Both teams have key players fouling out.

ahhh man, fatman is going to be really bummed when he misses a dunk with .7 seconds left in overtime clanking it off the back rim, and falling to the zags 81-80. he'll never get over this one.

I like GU by 11. It could be closer but unlikely. I think the place will be moving and shaking and assuming we got everyone healthy I think we have too much depth.

We really, really, really, need to get in their faces. No double teaming anyone. Make your man beat you. Rob needs to step it up to a level unlike he has before on D.

If Samhan is held to 12/10 15/8 or something and is frustrated by having too many fouls quickly SMC is in trouble. They know it.

Give him his points, make him beat himself, make him foul and the rest will come. They can't stop us on O, I don't worry about that.
