OK... first thing... lackluster effort in the two games last week were evident in the stat rankings. Good thing is that last night's game should kick a bunch of these stats back up.

Key takeaways:

Rebounding margin ticked up even with the lackluster effort and managed to get into the headline stats
I think Lowhorn singlehandedly murdered the Zags 3pt FG% stat... 50 spots??? Ouch... oh well, the Pilots inability to hit a trey last night should help.
Two other stats, outside of the one mention above, dropped out of the Good category and into the Journeyman range... albeit some are just barely in the range.
Bright spot... sort of... FT% moved up 1 spot. But in the end that is like being the thinnest kid at fat camp.
Scoring D should improve next week, but looking back over the last 5 weeks, this is a low point and a trend. On 1/10 they were ranked 181, peaked on 1/17 at 173 and now sit at 210... bordering on the dreaded FOW range.... NOT where they want to be with that stat.
Having 4 stats either at or beyond the FOW range is NOT good... according to some, WCC play was supposed to improve the Zags rankings. Ain't happening folks.

Free-Throw Percentage 234 (+1)

Flipside... there are 100 teams WORSE. Could be worse... could be DePaul... 56.2%... OUCH!!! Couple that with the 314 ranked FG% (39%) and you get why they stink so bad... they can't buy a bucket.... even when they are free.

I really appreciate these reports, LIZF. My fave:

Bright spot... sort of... FT% moved up 1 spot. But in the end that is like being the thinnest kid at fat camp.

My liquor addled brain has trouble with individual statistics. But I see that according to KenPom GU is the 50th best team in the country, and according to the RPI GU is the 28th best team in the country. Hopefully things will move up quickly on both scales, and we will get a decent seed going into the tournament in March. The next 3 weeks are going to be very interesting.
