All the freshmen look so nervous in their interviews. It's, dare I say, ... cute?

All the freshmen look so nervous in their interviews. It's, dare I say, ... cute?Agreed. Except maybe Kelly. He looks pretty comfortable on camera with someone so new to the program.

I liked that interview with Bol a lot. And, yes. He looked "cute." Nice job of handling the lighting. So many times photos don't do justice to dark-complected people.

GO BOL! Now I have to go watch those interviews again and this time take notes! Pithy stuff!

love how matt described the team needing to hit more ft's to win: "we just need to nut up". he's going to be quite the leader this year if you ask me.

I liked this one from coach Few, "If a guy is going to get kicked out of a game, I'd expect that he's going to do something that would warrant an ejection." He was talking about the "intent" behind an action. He also said that that same kind of action has happened at least 100 times this year. I think he was saying that there are games that are very physical. I think he said games like Michigan State and Cincinatti were very physical games too, and hard block-outs do occur. I think Few believed it was a foul (the blow did go above the chest), but he did not feel the intent was to hurt the guy, to be violent or maliscious as Lavin would have us believe.

I also liked what Kong had to say about the importance of the mental aspect of the game at this level, and the need to be focused (which is part of the mental aspect of the game).

I liked Boulin saying that he felt that there were times in the Wake Forest game that the effort level was not what is expected at Gonzaga. I felt the same way. There were too many times that guys were'n't even putting their hand up to distract shooters, and NOT hustling out to try to defend the shot.

Good summary, but I thought Few said something like "If you're gonna get kicked out of a game, at least be trying to get kicked out of a game, which Elias wasn't." That is, make your ejections symbolic or something and not just unfortunate. It's telling that Few really seems to harbor no ill will over this and was more concerned by how his team reacted to the incident than by the incident. I think that reflects the nuances of the game (i.e. elbows get thrown and players get hit every game), the personality of the coach and of course the quick trigger reflexes in cyberspace. Not saying Few's right and some of you were wrong or vice versa, but the difference in take over this incident is striking. It was a non-issue for Few but turned this board into a minefield in a matter of minutes.

Happy to see that Few recognizes that the team needs to get serious about making free throws.
