The national media is ignoring this game

What the hell? No story on any national site 2 hours after the final whistle, and no love on Sportscenter - secondary story. Is it all about the "top 25?"

A.I.'s retirement has overshadowed a lot of stuff on the sports pages. . .not that I agree with that.

Zags should get their due when the polls come out next week.

Agreed, it will be interesting to see where they land. A part of me wants this team to stay hungry and driven; we all know what can happen to young teams that start to believe their own hype. For now, I hope they enjoy this huge win and get some time in the sun!

Maybe the web guy at these sites is thinking turkey...

Or, maybe the undersea cable is down between Hawaii and the mainland. Just kidding - I think ESPN just wants to pump the Duke/UConn game. So, what is the excuse at cbssports?

It was 12:30 am back east when this game ended. The media was sweepy. Not sure why the final was scheduled so late (10 pm ET?). Again, what's up with Maui Tourney scheduling? Very curious decisions. Next year have some stones and say, "No way, Ocho. We schedule this thing on our terms, especially since you guys care more about hot NBA mid-season action!"

I, for one, do not mind flying under the radar as much as possible.

ESPN just pointed out that the last 22 winners of the Maui Invitational have made the NCAA Tourney - guess we're in....

It was only 6 p.m. where the game was actually played. Just saying.

I watched ESPN News and was able to catch them go back to the announcing team to discuss the game. I figured I would see something there is anywhere.

The video on ESPN's homepage is actually pretty good. Of course, Bi(l)as had to get in his opinion that this doesn't mean that the Zags will end up being the better team in the long run.

This game featured two unranked teams. Truth is, both should be ranked, but I think that played a part in the lack of national media attention.

Hmmmmm......it looks to me that the Zags are fairly obviously SET for the next 3 years, baring coaching change, multiple injuries, or heavy NBA departures. This crew plays defense.
