I was not impressed at ALL with Miss St last season, even though they did okay in a very weak SEC. Rider is a decent mid-major.

Idaho also beat Utah at Utah 94-87.

Mississippi State was without Renardo Sidney and John Riek. With that said they still probably lose. Rider was on fire, shooting wise, and MSU's guards were ice cold.

I believe MSU is a top 35 team, not top 20. Especially without two of their big men.

OS played on the road in Texas per ESPN, but still unbelievable. Must have gotten some bad airline peanuts.

UW's swarming D was fairly good through most of the game (but definitely had some breakdowns), but their shooting was not hot and their rebounding wasn't up to snuff. If Wright St had had all their players, I'm not sure UW would have walked away with this one (haven't seen stats, though). UW's points were mostly off of steals, TOs, and full-court run-outs. When they start seeing some good teams that aren't as bothered by their D, they're going to be in trouble.

UW's going to miss Brockman a lot more than they thought. Wright came storming from behind and nearly caught em. I don't know about anyone else but it looks like Thomas is a little guy who should be quick but he plays like a much larger, slower guard. Slower than last year and I thought he'd get quicker. Dentmon wasn't fast but he was a lot faster than IT. Gaddy looked a bit nervous as one should expect. Not much underneath. It'll be interesting to see how they develop.

Thomas looked really good. Their post game (or lack thereof) is what's going to hurt them. Brockman will be missed.

The game was part of the "Duel in the Desert" and was played in Lubbock. TAMCC will play Texas Tech tonight for the title.
