Great organized article by Katz. The only thing is that I still consider in my mind Fitz as the godfather of the Gonzaga program

Also per Andy Katz today:

"The Zags continue to get good reports on developmens with Josh Heytvelt. All indications are that he will be reinstated to play next season and is as focused as ever to contribute to the team after his arrest on drug charges got him suspended in February."

I thought about that, too. But godfather is probably fair & accurate, imo. Or as close as you can get in one transitional sentence.

Fitz might fit into the category of founder, initiator, mentor, grandfather or somesuch.

But I believe it's fair to note that GU's fortunes turned and essentially took off to new heights under Monson. No ?

(Josh) is as focused as ever to contribute to the team
The skeptic in me thinks that this might not be good enough. If it said "MORE focused than ever", then I might be more liable to buy into it. I'm not passing judgement yet, just sayin'.
