So from a post I read a couple days ago...

it's Elias (ELL-EEE-US)? Is that right?

And how bout GJ's last name?

And I assume Bol Kong is (BOWL-KONG), is that right?

Anything else?

From what I've heard, it's pronounced:

Uh-Lie-Us

and for GJ: "Vill-Uh-Reno"

Coach Few also pronounces Elias the way Angelo said.. So I'll trust that.

[QUOTE=Angelo Roncalli;468100]From what I've heard, it's pronounced:

Uh-Lie-Us[QUOTE]

I thought I heard Coach G say Uh-LEE-Us. Either way it is not the conventional American pronunciation EE-lie-us.

This should be fun. Something more to get us all righteously indignant as broadcasters, who have trouble pronouncing the name of the school and a number of our former players (Ronny, Raivio, etc.), will once again f*** it up.

There's so many Craig Ehlo jokes that could be made here. Let's just say it might take a few games before he's got the names of all the newbies perfected.

Oh, Lord, CZaggin'! That hadn't occurred to me.

That means my personal record for screaming "Shut up, Ehlo!" at the TV is in jeopardy. And it's only a year old ... 1 minutes 50 seconds in to the GU-Idaho game.

I can't wait to see/hear Heister working with this 'new' roster of players during the telecast.

I am actually one of the only posters that really enjoys Heister (Ehlo is another story). I like his enthusiasm but can only imagine its going to be a challenge with new names.

Thinking back to the change of Derek Rav-E-Oh and when Heister changed over to Rye-vee-oh...that was pretty entertaining.

If Rick Majerus would refer to Raivio as "Ravioli," then maybe he will refer to Villarino as either "Vitello" or "Vermicelli."

Majerus loved to say Oh-Fence and that drove me crazy. However, he has one of the all time classic youtube moments....Look at Lavin holding back the laughter...
