Huge game in Europe today. The ULEB Cup final. According to my TV listings, Lietuvos Rytas versus Real Madrid will be shown live today on NBA TV at 10:30 AM Pacific. I hope it's for real, 'cause I miss seeing that guy play.

In ULEB action, JP's averaging 9.3 pts and 4.1 rbs in 17 min per. (stats (http://www.ulebcup.com/ulebcup/home/on-court/players/showplayer?clubcode=lie&pcode=LML))

Brief interview excerpt from the ULEB (http://www.ulebcup.com/ulebcup/home/news/interviews/i/11082/460/item) website yesterday:
I am very thankful to be here, as this is my first season in European basketball. I think we have been through a lot of ups and downs this season. We played this team in the preseason and both teams are really different now. My feelings are great, I think we have a good chance. They are a big team, but we need to have confidence in ourselves. We worked hard to make it to this game. This is our most important so far this season, we are excited and will play very hard. Real Madrid crashes the offensive boards pretty hard and we do all the little things right to win the game. They go to the basket very often and hard, we have to keep their guards out of the key and the big men off the boards. Above all, playing hard is the most important thing. It means a lot for the club, Lithuania is a basketball country and it is very important for all of us to have our fans by our side. They have been backing us the whole season, that is great to see. It is like playing at home, a lot of people are coming from Lithuania and we appreciate it.

Yeah, when he says they've worked hard, he ain't kidding. In the round of 16, Rytas edged their opponents by 2 points. Round of 8, by 3 points. Semis, a comfy 8 points.

Here's hopin' JP gets some good run......and a championship too!!

...would love to be able to watch JP 82 times instead of just 1, but I guess we'll take what we can get. Forgot to mention, the last sentence of this (http://www.eurosport.com/basketball/uleb-cup/2006-2007/sport_sto1123662.shtml) web page says that Eurosport (http://www.eurosport.com/basketball/) will offer live video over the 'net. Might be worth checkin' out as well.
