American college hall of fame basketball coach Jerry Krause is becoming ever more impressed with the level of talent he sees emerging in Canada.

As the director of men's basketball operations for top 25 NCAA Division 1 Gonzaga University, he has signed four Canadians for the upcoming Bulldogs season, including former Calgary high school star Bol Kong.

"I don't think a top American college has ever had four Canadians at once,"says Krause, in Calgary to host a two-day clinic for coaches and players at Centennial High School.

"It's pretty unusual. Having one in the past would be a little unusual.And here's an interesting tidbit ...
Originally from Sudan, Kong is waiting on his Canadian citizenship to come through before he can head down to Gonzaga.I wonder if the author has it right - waiting for Canadian citizenship rather than a visa?

then BK could come to the US on a student visa as a Canadian citizen instead of as a Sudanese. Maybe that is how it's getting worked out.
