Robert has been asked to go work out with the Canadian National Team in June... and possibly he might go to a tournament in Spain with the team.

Details are forthcoming.

This is great news for Rob. After missing so many real games, getting some high quality PT like this would do him good. He is so ready to play, 100% healthy again.

I was wondering if our Rob might benefit froma "Big Man's" camp. We lost the best Big Man's camp founder over the WInter but maybe they'll be continuing it. Pete Newell's camp was the best but.....well.....Rob needs something like that as well as game experience.

WSU's Klay Thompson was asked to tryout for the U.S. team do we have any who were invited?

Aaaawesome. This will be a nice opportunity for Rob to knock off some of the trust from a nearly non-existant 08-09 season.

I assume that BZ is talking about the Canadian Senior Men's team. Here's the link to last year's practice roster (http://www.basketball.ca/en/hm/national_teams.php?TeamID=101) for the Senior Men. They are ranked #19 in FIBA. (Hasn't there been a fair amount of teeth-gnashing of late about the lack of success of the senior men's team?)

duper, Klay Thompson was invited to try out for the U19 USA team. From Zagsblog.com (http://www.zagsblog.com/2009/05/08/fisher-ebanks-collins-in-world-university-games/),
Also this summer, the 2009 FIBA U19 World Championship will be held July 2-12 in Auckland, New Zealand. The team’s training camp will be held June 16-28 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Here are the confirmed players for the trials: Tyshawn Taylor of Kansas; Kemba Walker of UConn; Darryl “Truck” Bryant of West Virginia; Larry Drew of North Carolina; Klay Thompson of Washington State; Seth Curry of Duke; Kenny Boynton of Florida; Maalik Wayns of Villanova; Gordon Hayward of Butler; Sylven Landesberg of Virginia; Al Farouq-Aminu of Wake Forest; Howard Thompkins of Georgia; Drew Gordon of UCLA; and Arnett Moultrie of UTEP.Of course, Manny and Kelly will be playing for Canada U19 in Aukland.

And this thread needs a pic, from Rob's last outing for the Zags in the '08-09 season:

Bouldin was invited to try out for a team but declined. He wants to work on his game and focus solely on his senior year.

"Big Man Moves" is awesome, Pete Newell's camp edited down into a tape. Not just for bigs, either. Some of you may be saying Duh of course! But if you haven't seen it, it's all fundamentals and how they're taught and executed, it's really great, and Newell is leading it all. his drills, his messages are simple and doable, very logical, they work all over the floor.

Coach as Teacher, Pete Newell.
