That's it ZagNut. If I was Luke, I'd transfer and play on an excellent Zag team after 1 year of sitting/practicing. Puts a program like Nevada under the gun. Is this true??? Crazy offseason comin right up!!!

From the Reno Funny Pages: (http://www.rgj.com/section/blogs16?plckController=Blog&plckScript=blogScript&plckElementId=blogDest&plckBlogPage=BlogViewPost&plckPostId=Blog%3acf54a7c3-6850-4148-9710-effa04ad5005Post%3a7f37bbcb-952a-4b19-b6b2-29abf52435a9&sid=sitelife.rgj.com)

According to a Wolf Pack player, the team is having a meeting tonight with Coach Fox.

Fox's contract included a $250,000 buyout clause, which will likely be paid by Georgia.

Nevada associate head coach David Carter is the clear-cut favorite to replace Fox.

Fox's depature means no Pack coach has stayed at school for more than seven seasons since Jack Spencer retired in 1972 (Fox was the team's coach for five seasons).

Fox and his old mentor Trent Johnson will now both be coaching in the SEC.

If Babbitt decided to cut the apron strings, there would be plenty of schools willing to take him in.

With him likely being a first round lock if he plays one more year and leaves I dont seem him leaving, fun to dream though

It's interesting to note that even though they have had high turnover in coaches, it sounds like they have been committed to continuity by hiring from within. Hope they can maintain a high level of success. I keep seeing these jobs pop up and wondering when Randy Bennett is going to move. I agree with CDC84 that Arizona would be the right gig for him.

I wouldn't be surprised if Babbitt stays put. He comes from Reno, and he'll likely stay there. That was the main reason he elected to go there in the first place. The fact that Nevada appears to be hiring from within is yet another reason he'll likely stay....it's not like he'll be playing for an unfamiliar coach.

I saw this creep across the ESPN bottom line last night and at first I thought I read "Mark Few to Georgia" and I thought "what the @#$#@@? Are you crazy?!?!" I had to rewind the Tivo to see it was Mark Fox.

I wasn't even that drunk.

Yo, it was like 7pm (I think) when I first saw it. I was just thinking "Arizona was THAT bad to pass it up for a football school? Really?"

Good times, I guess.
