In Tom Izzo's 11 years at Michigan State, there has NOT been a 4 year player that didn't have the opportunity to play in a Final 4. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to say that whenever you're in a recruits home?

That would be a nice addition to a 15+ ESPN television contract, high profile Top 25 out of conference schedule and 6/11-12 Sweet Sixteens. As much as Izzo's style is painful to watch, you gotta give him credit. It's great to see great coaches making great programs, rather than great teams.

Every player at Gonzaga in Few's era has gone to at least one Sweet Sixteen. I'm trying to think if the gap between 2002 and 2006 leaves out any four-year player.

Izzo never ceases to amaze.

Gonzaga lost in the first round in 2002 and in the second round in 2003, 2004 & 2005.

I don't believe that Ronny Turiaf ever played in the Sweet Sixteen.

:D that sounds good in a recruits home too...beat me to it BZ.

Izzo is in the ring of greats to me, and a true favorite doing it today...right behind Few for me. Although I haven't followed the Spartans closely for a few years now, I'm happy for him and their fans, that region getting this shot in their arm

Uber thought this was going to be a historical thread about GU's recruitment of Adam Morrison. Oh well.

Uber will never bet against Izzo again. That's all on that subject.

You are right. Bugger. Soooooo close in 2003 and 2005. 3 total points away from two Sweet 16s. Bugger.

That's one heck of a line that Izzo can use on recruits. But Mark Few isn't at a loss for a recruting pitch either...

Do you want to win? We have 12 straight 20-win seasons and have gone undefeated in conference play three times in the last six years

Do you like championships? We have 9 consecutive league titles, which is the longest streak in the nation, and we've won 9 of the last 11 WCC tournaments

Do you want to play in March Madness? We've gone 11 years straight, which is the fifth longest active streak in the nation

Do you want to win in the tourney? We've gone to the Sweet 16 five times in the last eleven seasons

Do you want national exposure? We played 20 games on national TV last season
