I bought the multi-pack of Sam Adams at Costco the other day. I'm going to swing by the doors to pick up some hot wings also to enjoy during the game.

Ooooo...wings! Thanks for the idea. Sadly, in Seattle they don't have a place that resembles the doors very well, but I'll make due with some storebought. :D

Let's see.

I'm headed down the notorious Bluejay Bar to meet my GU buddies at their little dental school function where PBR is on tap for only 0.50 a glass Then, it's off to the store to purchase Sparks Energy drinks and a case of coors light. Expecting about 25 people at my buddies house, I'm sure people will be mixing and matching drinks all night as they cheer on the Zags. Can't wait.

The Zags are Pabst powered... it'll be tall-boy cans for me. I obviously had just enough Pabst before the GU/WKU game, so I'm uping the anty for tonight :D

Hard to say, too many factors in deciding that at this point. In either case, heavy consumption will likely be the proper way to deal with the situation. :D

yarr, some show where people online vote thumbs up or thumbs down as the commentators are speaking... the numbers spiked talking about the zags.

1 of them wasn't sure the zags could do it, but took em anyways.

and holy..... I pray for mercy upon Arizona and anyone who is gonna be playing lousiville.

and Absynthe is highly over-rated garbage for the most part. I can respect some of the high quality brands, and bottles that are aged properly... However most absynthe on the market is just trash, but its name attracts people... I've had very very strong abysnth made by a friend... loaded with wormwood and nothing for any of us. Maybe a slightly happier buzz.

Yep, absinthe. Really really good absinthe. Mixed with 2 or 3 parts water and a little sugar - makes it a little cloudy green. Excellent stuff with a totally undeserved bad rep.

I have a Belgian-style on tap for later. Mmmm... Belgian ale...

do tell or pm if you feel better about that.

In honor of the Zag I saw buying some at the liquor store when they got back from the Old Spice Classic. And in his honor I hereby post this poem WITH SOME ADDITIONS:

LIVE LIFE DRUNK

Always be drunk.
That's it!
The great imperative!
In order not to feel
Time's horrid fardel
bruise your shoulders,
grinding you into the earth,
Get drunk and stay that way.
On what?
On wine, poetry, virtue, (HOOPS) whatever.
But get drunk.
And if you sometimes happen to wake up
on the porches of a palace,
in the green grass of a ditch,
in the dismal loneliness of your own room,
your drunkenness gone or disappearing,
ask the wind,
the wave,
the star,
the bird,
the clock,
ask everything that flees,
everything that groans
or rolls
or sings,
everything that speaks,
ask what time it is;
and the wind,
the wave,
the star,
the bird,
the clock
will answer you:
"Time to get drunk!
Don't be martyred slaves of Time,
Get drunk!
Stay drunk!
On wine, virtue, poetry, Hoops whatever!"

Charles Baudelaire

I live in the Seattle area, but I got this bottle as a present. I'm pretty sure that it was bought here (http://www.lafeeabsinthe.com/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/). Like it says, it's the 'real' stuff, made with wormwood, made from a traditional French recepie from the turn of the century. (BTW, the halluciation thing is a myth, though.) A bunch more facts on the site. This is the first bottle I've had (it's a little spendy, though not worse than scotch or brandy, for example), but I really enjoy it. A lot like Ouzo or Sambuca, but a little more herby (if that's a word ;) ).

Anyway, I'd recommend it to anyone - but mix it with water, even if you don't use the sugar. The stuff is nearly 70% alcohol.
