This is a story from the Seattle Times that will appear tomorrow. I sure have a lot of respect for Micah. Am glad he has come so far at Gonzaga. Will even be happier if he has some breakout games in The Dance and even plays in the NBA. Thank goodness for the Zag coaches and players who gave this guy a new home.

Wow, wonderful story. It makes me love the guy all the more, and respect him more for sticking it out and working on turning his life around. He had a tough growing up and I think there's no school in the country like Gonzaga who provides so much for its students. Look at Downs and Heytvelt. GU gives second chances, gives its kids a vision of the future and what it takes to make that vision a reality.

I tip my hat to the school, its leadership, and the coaches and fans who make GU such a great place. Thank you.

Great story. Micah has really traveled a rough road. It is amazing that he is performing at such a high level considering all he has been through.

The Seniors on this team all seem to have compelling stories of redemption and or perseverence or both.

Go Micah...Go ZAGS....BEAT UNC!!
BELIEVE!!

wow,
what a great article
I did not realize the full extent of his personal life
GU certainly has pulled a variety of personalities into a family unit, with JP, JH, and MD, AD, gee what a success story

rumors are flying around
I sure hope next year there is AD, MB, and the coach to keep the whole thing going

Excellent work, as usual, by Mr. Withers.

The stories behind Pargo, Heytvelt, and Downs explain why GU basketball can accomplish so much more than what we hope to see it accomplish on the court. This year's seniors are a different group than what we are used to seeing as Zag fans, but give us a lot to be proud of. Give credit to the coaching staff for helping these guys grow a ton in their time at GU.

Here's a few more photos to add to the gallery. He was putting up some big numbers as a soph.

I have been watching Micah all year. All year is has seemed to play harder then any other player on the floor. I won't forget him.

Micah,

You epitomize what it means to be an overcomer!

You seem to have become a complete player who combines being
a great shooter, a solid passer, with ability to shoot or drive, but this year
you seem to have become a great defender as well.

Thank you for staying the course and guiding the Zags to their most successful season ever- you are a difference-maker and my favorite Zag!

I know you guys will "leave it all on the floor" tonite!

There are some good posts about Micah on The Montana Standard's Butte Rats forum.

Butte is a GU town.

Wow, I didn't realize the extent of Micah's troubles. It makes me respect him as a person for persevering through everything he's going through.

I'm so glad Micah is getting some much-deserved recognition. I feel he was overlooked for the WCC All-Conference Team or at least Honorable Mention. So glad he received Tournament MVP. I hope he shines tonight.
