Would liked to have seen Fazekas on the first team over Oden. Otherwise, no arguments.

Oden doesn't deserve that spot - Fazekas does. Pure hype there...too bad.

IMO any guy that cannot make a shot farther than 5 feet out shouldnt make it, let alone over an all around player like nick.

When was the last time 2 freshman were first team?

zag79, are you telling me that you wouldn't have put Shaq on the first team (he was twice) when he was dominating down at LSU in the early 90's. I don't think he hits many outside 5 feet.....

never - there have only been two EVER before...from ESPN:

Since freshmen became eligible to play in 1972, the only ones selected to the first team had been Wayman Tisdale of Oklahoma in 1983 and Chris Jackson of LSU in 1990.

Oden doesn't deserve that spot at all, and he even he admitted it in the article.

While we're talking NV...

Marcellus Kemp is worthy. The kid is great.

I'd vote Oden over Fazekas. He played most of the season with his left hand and still played great. He impacts the game more than any other player except for Durant. His team is in the Final Four. Where's Fazekas?

Totally agree Wolkster. Oden is the clear choice ahead of Fazekas. If you look at their total impact on games, Oden's is greater. He not only has established himself as a very good scorer but I bet he alters most every shot taken in the paint. The man is a total package. Hype aside, Fazekas bothers me in big games, he tends to start off very slow and never really 'takes over' a game; and he is a senior. Kemp is the true motor on team and I think 2nd team is a perfect place for Fazekas.

His team may be in the final four, but for some strange reason it's easy to imagine them making it that far without him playing AT ALL because that's practically what they did. He does alter every shot in the lane and has a great coordination and ability for a guy his age and size, but I think this is just a given because of all the hype. To some it would be a travesty not to have a future NBA star not be a 1st team All American in what many think will be his only year of college.

Oden plays dominating D, Fazekas doesn't.
