No Poll?
Huh? ;)

03-19-2009, 07:12 PM
For me, Matt Bouldin.

03-19-2009, 07:13 PM
It'll be a blowout for Josh, but hey, I loved them all.

03-19-2009, 07:14 PM
No question Heytvelt, but gotta give a shout out to Meech with good play off the bench.

03-19-2009, 07:14 PM
the icebreaker. The disrupter. The take charge guy. JH & JP had their moments, too, as did MD, SG & AD, plus meech.

Go TEAM Zags !

03-19-2009, 07:18 PM
JH finally got the nasty going, and the game was as good as over. Bring it Saturday, big guy.

Props to Meech for showing some nasty attitude with the big Zips fella, too.

03-19-2009, 07:26 PM
But I think the turning point in the game was when Steven hit that very difficult 3 out on the corner...when Austin was double teamed and just managed to get the ball to him...they all had their moments, how can you pick a fav kid...

Josh. Honorable Mention to Matt, Steven, Micah and Jeremy. Good Job Guys.

I voted for Matt Bouldin. When we were down 6, Matt made two drives down the lane -- one for a layin, the other for a Josh dunk. That was the beginning of the turnaround.

03-19-2009, 07:39 PM

So serious.
So focused.
So wants to win.

03-19-2009, 07:43 PM
Going with Josh. He was very solid and anchored the inside game.

Overall, glad we got through this and got the rust off! Micah played well, too.

03-19-2009, 07:45 PM
BTW, it feels soooo good to be picking a GUnit of the game during the NCAAs!

03-19-2009, 07:49 PM
The coaching staff must have challenged Josh at halftime, as it seemed like he played like he really wanted the "W" the 2nd half. Matt and Pargo played very well and Austin had some big blocks. Gray's 3 pointer on the pass from Austin was a turning point. Meech played well and Downs had his usual fine all around game. Player of the game = Josh.

Jh is GU

Zips played like they were hungary for a bellybuster(they gave us a their best shot).

We can play a lot better.

Our coaching can toughen up and I expect it will.

Micah's energy kept us in the game in the 1st half but Josh was indeed mighty.

Go!! Zags!!!

03-19-2009, 08:36 PM
This is Josh's team!
*clap!... clap!... clap-clap-clap!*

Picked Josh, but since no one else has done it yet, I want to give some love to Mr. Daye who was a one man defensive wrecking crew in the first half and arguably kept the score close while the boys were still rubbing the sleep out of their eyes.

03-19-2009, 08:57 PM
I just looked at the box score. Jeremy Pargo was 4-5 (1-1 from 3), had 5 assists and no turnovers! Very nice.

03-19-2009, 08:58 PM
Definitely Josh. He had a great game.

There were a TON of highlight plays but the one play that stood out to me and seemed to be the turning of the tide: When Meech, who is about a feisty of a player as I have seen, goes up against McKnight for the loose ball, ties it up, and keeps fighting with a guy two times bigger than him. We will be in good hands with Meech at the helm. This kid spits in the face of fear.

Josh with Matt very very very close. Matt, changed the game in the second half as he took over the point guard duties more and more. He quickened the pace. We had that slow pace first half. Matt began to attack, attack attack and that chance the tone of the second haf. He alsso had a few incredible passes and nice boards.

Josh was The "Roaring Lion." tonight. He was the King of The Jungle. I thought he had his best rebounding effort of the year. Those Akron boys were damn tough, but not as tough as Josh. He took one hell of a beating from those two brothers, but he took it like a true warrior. Are you still going to ask if we are tough? You could tell Josh was nervous the first half, but he settled down the second and really got it going. Josh was on the floor half the night.

Josh- It seems he's either been chosen or in the running for the last 8 or so games! Good job big man...great job team!!

I just looked at the box score. Jeremy Pargo was 4-5 (1-1 from 3), had 5 assists and no turnovers! Very nice.

No mention of him in any postgame comments either. Who would have thought Pargo would be the unsung efficient machine?

But I gotta give it to Josh. The man simply did not. want. to go. home. tonight.

03-19-2009, 10:10 PM
I gave my vote to my Boy Josh Heytvelt... But my 2nd place finisher is Jeremy Pargo.... Homeboy shot 4-5, 5 assists, and ZERO turnovers... MAN I love the Way JP is playin.

03-19-2009, 10:17 PM
Have to go with josh. Jeremy honorable mention with 9 pts 5 assists and no turnovers. He really played his role to perfection. Also nice to see us score at the end of the half. great drive by jeremy and really made a difference. Down 3 instead of 5.

03-19-2009, 10:41 PM
1st half - AD & MD
2nd half - MB and JH
GU of Game - Josh

Great game by JP also.

03-19-2009, 11:38 PM
doesn't this feel good tonight.......

OK, Team win first and foremost...sooo great that. rewatching the game is wonderful.

Big contributers up and down the roster. Steven was a tough hustler, even missing his first couple of shots, hustled hard and mattered in the 1st half, which was big. Jeremy made some big baskets, and in the first half when we were still not clicking, rust, nerves, combo, other, whatever. Matt continues to tackle whatever's in front of him....

Meech scuffling with McKnight is a highlight :D

It's Josh. Go Go Go! Doing it man.

Lothar: did the order you listed in the poll show your bias?

No bias. I just copied the names off the first box score I could found. That way any spelling errors wouldn't be mine. :)

no question - Josh all the way!

That's a weight room shot, Timeout!!!

Goodson for providing some toughness off the bench and a lot of speed, and being fearless. His youth and inexperience is sometimes an advantage for the zags because he seems to be unafraid at times when the other teammates are looking like they are worrying about losses from the past.

HEytvelt THE MAN!
