So, predict how many turnovers the Zags will commit, and will Gonzaga's defense cause more turnovers than Akron's defense causes?

will have two less than our average t/o's vs. akron. And twice as many boards as we have averaged at both ends.

Go TEAM Zags !

Don't think the Zips got anything on GU when it comes to forcing turnovers. But let's be honest, turnovers are a big deal in these kinds of games. Especially at the end of games. If you know what I mean...

Turnovers:

GU 12 Akron 20

Akron loves to foul, so we must hit them free throws today!
Go Zags!

The more I read about Akron, the more they sound like San Diego, with perhaps a talent level more like Santa Clara's. The most glaring stat, to me, is our huge height advantage inside. Someone -- Josh, Micah, or Austin -- should have a big scoring day.

I think GU will have 16 TOs (rust - bad 1st half, better 2nd) and Akron will have 13. But there will be the effect of lots more TOs for them as GU dominates inside and forces lots of bad shots (don't show up as TOs, but have an effect). I just hope Akron doesn't keep shooting from 3 like they did in their conference tourney - that could spell trouble.

Now is the time for Pargo to prove himself. Pargo's ability to limit turn-overs will be a huge factor in how far Gonzaga goes in the Big Dance. I am hopeful the UConn game, as painful as it was, willl turn out to be a learning experience that turns lemons into lemonade!

Go Zags!!!!!!!!!!!

Who's Akron? Isn't our first game next week against Carolina?

That would be a one way bus ticket back to Spokane if that is our thinking, and that was not tongue in cheek, I just saw a 15 seed play Memphis tougher than we dreamed of.

Play the team in front of you, win +1, advance.

Go Zags

You and me both.

Hey, I've seen a lot of GU basketball. I know the drill - happens about every other game. :)

with Jeremey Pargo once again getting ZERO turnovers, he hads turned it up with an average of .75 turnovers per game last 8 games and upping his assists to over 4.3 a game during these last 8 games...keep it up JP....nice work

Great point. ) A 5:0 A:TO ratio is fantastic against a team that likes to get TOs like Akron. And with that dunk... Things are looking up for Pargo right now.

6:1 AST/TO ratio. That's sweet as candy.
