View Full Version : Potential high seeds in tight games

Section 116

Three games currently in progress demonstrate the difficulty of navigating conference championships and each may have some impact on the seeding of the Zags. At half:

Memphis 26 Tulane 24
West Virginia 36 Pitt 34
Oklahoma 34 Okla. St. 33

While all three favorites will quite possibly win, it is indeed difficult to win your conference tournament regardless of your regular season record.

Can Oke State hang on?
Can MD hang on?
Can WVU hang on?

Very, very close.

Oklahoma St over OU by 2 with a little over 4 mins to go. Helluva game. OSU has 2 guys on bench with foul trouble and still leads.

Now Moses, OSU's center has fouled out with a little over 3 to go.

4:02 remaining. That's about 4 minutes too long.

2:42 left OU up by 2. When Moses fouled out he also got a T.

If Libbey were calling that game and the Zag's were up by one......what would happen?

West Virginia hangs on to shut down Pitt 71-60. This may be one of the most wide open NCAA tournaments in years if the conference championships are any indication.

Terps beat the Wolf Pack, too. They get Wake tomorrow.

Crazy ending to Nova-Marquette.

Memphis looking better for a one seed...will Kansas drop enough for us to move up?!?

Birddog

Big 12 has had a bunch of upsets, Kansas was probably gonna be a 2 OU was playing for a 1. Both are out. Mizzou is probably favored now.

Add UConn/Syracuse to the list of games tight to the end.

Currently in OT after a buzzer beater 3 by UConn was waived off by being just barely too late (but I think the clock was a little late to start and it was a good call).

I dislike both teams but I guess I'll root for UConn for RPI purposes.

Fixed:D

Either way one he77 of a game.
Double OT...wow great game. I'm glad the Zags aren't playing. It's nice to just watch and not have gut wrenching emotions and adrenaline coursing through you watching a game.

Add a third overtime to this thriller. I find myself rooting for Syracuse, just to deflate UCONN's overtime confidence going into the dance. Syracuse has two fouled out and several on both sides have 4 fouls.

Just Wow...and double my thoughts before...If this were a Zags game I'd be up all night I'd be so jacked on adrenaline.

thanks for the fix. it's been a long week. . .

Crazy game and so glad the Zags aren't involved. My blood pressure would be through the roof and like you said, I would be up to 3 am winding down afterwards. Think of all the east coast fans of both teams who stayed up to watch.

I'm also quite glad we aren't playing the game televised after this one (luckily there isn't one), it would practically be over by now!
