Pomare was the one talking sh1t. If anything he should have received the T.

Does anyone know why the WCC keeps this guy year after year. Just curious -- shortage of refs?

He is the Alexander Haig of ref's. Dave Libbey that is.

Lay off Al! :lmao:

Seriously, he was the Commanding General of NATO during my tour in Germany. Did a pretty fair job as I recall.

More importantly, he kept things from getting out of control during Nixon's last days in the White House. For that, we should be very grateful.

If you're comparing Libbey to Haig to illustrate Dave's delusions of grandeur, no problem.

OK, back to hoops...

Reno. Thank you. That was so funny. I can't quit laughing. "Taking Command" That was the point. You got it first take.

Texas: yes! Just Delusions of Grandeur. That was all I meant.

So why the double T?
Did Pomare get a technical also, or did Daye get two?
Sorry if I missed it, but did the Ref think Daye was trash talking him, or trash talking a SD player?

I think SU Chieftain nailed it in the game thread last night:

As BobZag said, the players have to know which officials have a short fuse.

Why such Libbey hatred? I used to find fault with Libbey (mainly due to some past years reffin' PAC-10 games), but he is, IMO, better than 90% of the WCC refs we get. Ego aside, I really think Dave tries to get the calls right. In fact, I understand the Double T. On TV it looked like Pomare was the instigator, but it also looked like he was responding to something Austin did/said. I mean, come on folks, its not like this was Austin's first T.

Anyway, good game Zags!

Why such Libbey hatred?

Because he will ref a good game 95% of the time and then decide to make a call just to make the call and be noticed. I have personally watched him stare down a player as he walked up half the court towards the scorer's table just waiting for the player to do anything so he can T him up.

Yeah I didnt get this one. I feel bad for Austin. Some Gonzaga fans who are used to the all american white boy dont like him, and this doesnt make them feel any better.. I didnt see Austin do a single thing. Pomare got in his face and said something. Austin shouldnt have gotten a T unless he said something bad, but I didnt see him say anything. Austin is getting better with his emotional self though and Im excited to see him take control next year.
