The Washington Huskies rode a 9 game win streak into Spokane for today's game against GU at the new Patterson Baseball Complex. The Huskies were stopped dead in their tracks as freshman Jeremy Stumetz from Richland, in his first college start, threw a 4 hit complete game shutout. Final score: Zags 12, Huskies 0. Great work by Jeremy and the Zags.

lol, that's a good one. I guess football is all they've got now. That can't be a good feeling.

Jeremy Stumetz, along with UW sophomores Tyler Cheney, and Kyle Conley led the Richland Bombers to the state title in 2005. Very talented group and even better kids. Congrats to Stumetz.

I was at the game. UW's pitching and defense was atrocious. And wow, I didn't know Jeremy was only a freshman. That's makes his outing even more impressive.

Especially since Gonzaga can still hold onto its "undefeated since 1942" claim to fame in football. :p

Jeremy is a very close friend of mine. I will make sure he sees all of the praise he is getting. :)
