I happened to be listening to the "Bud and the Wingmen" sports radio program on KXLY in Spokane today and Bud Nameck revealed that he cut off all his hair as he will lose it soon due to chemotherapy he will be undergoing. I did not catch what type of cancer he is dealing with, but he said it should not interfere with his duties doing radio play-by-play for Cougar basketball.
Bud got his start in Spokane as Sports Information Director at GU. I think he even did a little bit of GU basketball in the Fitz days. He went on to become sports guy at KXLY TV for many years. I always have liked him as a class act, and he still says lots of nice things to say about GU.
He played college baseball at Santa Clara. Keep him on your prayer list. Nice guy with a nice family.
