Orleans seems like it is almost booked now. Where else are Zags fans staying or recommending?

Excaliber was really cheap when I looked a couple weeks ago. Not sure how low or high scale you want to go, but I heard that the Plaza had rooms for $32/night.

Just a question, did you call them or check online? A friend of mine called the other day and had no problem securing rooms.

You also might want to check the Venitian, I think they have deals.

We're staying at a low end price place -- the Emerald Suites, which is an extended stay place, i.e. has kitchenettes. It has shuttle service from the airport and appears to be walking distance to the Orleans. But then again, blocks are like two miles long in Vegas!

Here is a helpful map... Off to the right hand side, you can click on Orleans and then on the details box in the new window. It will give you an idea of how close other hotels are. The Rio is around 2.7 miles away if you get back on I-15 and off on Tropicana- You can also head west to (I believe Arville) and then south to Tropicana, either way it is a quick trip.

Hope this helps!!!

Here's a helpful link that we used to book our rooms at The Luxor. It has all the special rates and deals going on right now in Vegas.

Found same room at lower rate today versus what I booked on the 11th; called the Luxor and they adjusted the reservation to the lower rate; saved $70 on the room which can be redirected to other needs. . .

I checked the Excalibur this afternoon just for the heck of it. You can get a Tower room for Sat, Sun and Mon for $169.35 which includes their "Resort Fee". The Excalibur is about 2 miles from the Orleans (W 4500 Tropicana Ave) on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd.(The Strip) and Tropicana Ave.

The Tuscany suites and casino.

Today, I got in the mail a flyer offering $49 sun-thurs and $89 fri & sat. Fone # is 1-877-887-2261 and the entry group code is 11Q3u5.

Take a look at the website at: www.tuscanylv.com

Only stayed there once, but it was nicely located one block from the triangle of caesars, bally's/Paris & Bellagio.

I was on business trip and my friends lined it up. But was surprised how close it was to those three -- which many consider to be the center of L.V., and where I have stayed, at all of the big 3 at one time or another, over the past 20 years.

There are a couple hundred rooms, tons of buildings all over a large tropical campus and in the center is a nice, quiet tropical setting with pool etc.

I consider myself a half way decent expert on vegas since I usually vacation their 5 or so times a year. Now it depends on if you want a decent hotel or not. Both the luxor and the excalibur are definitely on the crappy side of things in terms of vegas style, I wouldn't stay their but to each their own.

Not sure what days you want to be their on but doing a quick check on sat til tuesday the days of the tourney and on expedia (Seattle to Vegas) you can find MGM Grand Treasure Island or Mandalay Bay all great hotels for $300 per person or Flamingo for $255. Hell Bellagio is only going for $400 per person for those 3 nights that's pretty amazing.

If you really want some advice though, check out the brand new Hotel called Encore it's the new Steve Wynn hotel and all the rooms are Suite styled and you can find that for $375 a person. Probally your best bet if bringing the wifey :P

My group is staying at the monte carlo we got it dirt cheap because we booked so far in advance :P Good luck to you and hope to see you there.

The Luxor seems to have the best rates if you call their toll free number at this later date, so that is where we will be staying.

I have posted this before, but do yourself a favor and stay at the Wynn Encore for the WCC. Highest end new facility in Vegas that I am aware of unless you want to try one of the ultra deluxe small joints where you may be able to share a floor with Paris Hilton and her pals.

Use code WPHTZOO to book rooms at the Encore during the WCC tournament and rate is 159 per night. In better times, rates are 450 and up.

Go Bulldogs!

I am going next week for work and I will be staying at the Monte Carlo, I don't know how much it is since I didn't make the arrangements but I will let you know if it is nice when I get there.

Don't know what the going rate is these days, but I used to always stay at the Imperial Palace, which is across the street from Caesars. Cheap rooms right on the Strip. I've always had good luck at their casino as well.

IP is really cost efficient. Was going to book rooms for the NCAA 1st and 2nd round there but we splurged for Hooters which was $50 a night.
