Gonzaga 72 St. Mary's 61

Zags look like their old selves and are able to finally hit some 3's. Rebounding looks much better tonight. The M & M boys (Micah and Meech) are co- players of the game. They are crowned Saviors of the fallen Zags.

That is all.

By "old selves" do you mean which team will show up tonight? If so, I agree. I'll stick with my previous prediction and, unfortunately, if history is any indicator the team comes out flat and still wallowing in self pity.

Gaels by 11

... hope I'm wrong.

zags have a lot to play for, and are a much better team than st marys anyway... especially with no mills

Zags by 18 -- let's say 78-60

We are much more talented and deep than SMC -- and yes, Mills out will make this an easier result.

Just hope it's not the traditional 106 degrees and bad refs at the crackerbox gym they call home.

So maybe 15 points --

Hi all,
I am a longtime lurker (since the old board) and a first time poster. I am a student at Notre Dame, but my parents have raised me on Gonzaga basketball so I have been a die hard fan since before the 1999 run, during which I got to attend the UConn game in Phoenix.

I do think that the Zags will come out fast tonight and I think that Bouldin will have a big game in his return to a WCC where he does not have to face the length and pure athletic ability as on Saturday. Even though the team did not have their best game after Mills was injured they handled Samhan and I think they will do the same tonight.

Zags 76
SMC 63

I like us winning by somewhere between 8-12 pts, but I am hoping we just clean out our jets and clean them out to get the bad memphis taste of our mouths. It's possible.

Go Zags !

I think it's close enough that I can't relax until the end, but not so close that I have to sweat out a last-minute shot by Simpson or O'Leary or somebody. I'll say Gonzaga 86, St. Mary's 81

Why should things be different for GU than they were after the last crushing loss vs UConn? There's no motivation to beat SMC. Zags can lose to both Gaels and Santa Clara down the road and probably still be a game up on Portland (Pilots doubtful to sweep SMC and USF this week). Then it's a glide through LMU and Pepp until the league season's last game at USD,which they probably won't have to win either to take the reg season title & number one seed in Las Vegas.

After seeing the Zags variously described on the board this week as "gutless," "soft", "quitters", "chokers" etc, why would these posters be surprised if GU folds and SMC gets a righteous win tonight?

Ain't happening. Bulldogs win an ugly, foul filled, players ejected, back yard brawl: 60-58.

I think Coach Few is going to motivate the players enough given the shameful performance against memphis, and unless the players are cold shooting, I see a very very solid defensive effort, and a blowout.

Gonzaga 75. St. Marys 45.

How so? Since his injury they are 1-3. Two of the losses being by 18 points. I'd rather lose to Memphis by 18 than to Santa Clara. Everyone that is predicting a hangover by the Zags needs to think about the opposition, they arent exactly coming off their best outing either.

St Mary's 76, Gonzaga 58.
Santa Clara 66, Gonzaga 63

Sorry, there were are just seismic cracks in the attitude arena that need more time to mend.

WCC is weak this year.

This comment is intriguing to me. I've seen numerous analysts and poster state the same thing regarding the WCC. I have to ask, when is the WCC not considered a weak conference? Besides the Gonzaga anomoly, only SMC, USD, and Pepperdine have made the NCAA Tourney in the past decade. To be honest, this might be the strongest year I've seen the WCC since the '01-'02 season. Portland, SMC, and USD are all on the rise. Lastly, I think we're winning in league by such large margins because of our difficult/unique match-ups this season and that we still haven't played the best teams in the WCC on the road i.e. SMC, SCU, USD, etc.

My prediction:
GU - 74
SMC - 70

I have a feeling it'll be closer than we expect it to be.

The WCC was going to be very tough this year with St Mary's (Mills) and San Diego (with Johnson). Both teams had everyone back from last year. If these two guys hadn't gotten hurt the WCC may have been the toughest every. But now, with those two guys out it is pretty weak because both those guys were 20 point scorers.

No squeakers please. My heart was damaged in the Memphis game and I could very well have a heart attack before seeing Daye's game winner.
