Vitale absent for GameDay this Saturday

Dick Vitale won't be making the trip to Spokane this weekend for the Memphis game. Instead, he'll be blathering away with Mike Patrick as Davidson takes on Charleston.

Jay Bilas and Bob Knight will work our game alongside the usual pxp master, Dan Shulman.

For those of you who appreciate a true analysis of the game from intelligent, coherent experts, this is great news.

For those of you who are disappointed and hoped to hear about diaper dandies, ptp'ers, and how many famous people Dick Vitale knows, tune in to ESPN2 at 3pm Saturday.

No, college basketball makes college basketball so great. Calvary tipping in Q's runner with 4.4 left on the clock. David Lighty hitting an unreal 3 with less than 5 seconds left. Morrison banking a 3 with 5 second left. Maynard & Co. knocking Duke out in the first round with a dagger at the end of the game. Chalmers 3 to keep Kansas alive. The list goes on.

The passion comes from the game, not the talking heads.

For some reason I don't think that would end up on ESPN's 'Top' anything list. It would probably be closer to their weekly bottom 10

Anyways I don't really understand why this is news, as it has been fairly common knowledge that Dickie V doesn't travel west for Game Day for a while now
