Very nice interview with Manny's N.E.D.A. coach over on slipperstillfits.com (http://www.slipperstillfits.com/2009/1/12/718240/checking-in-on-2009-commit). today. Nice going, guys!

There's a postscript at the end about the coach's evaluation of Kelly, too.

I wonder if Manny being on the team next fall is a plus or a minus for Kelly Olynyk playing for the Zags ....

I like that Mangisto has become a good 3-point shooter. I wonder how good, though, ie, percentage.

There's a nice pic on the Slipper story (cropped from a Canbada Junior National team photo maybe?), but I like this one ...

Here is a link to a story of 3 recent games for NEDA, all wins! http://basketball.ca/en/hm/inside.php?sid=1&id=2667

Looks like Manny played well.

Nice to get extra info on Manny and Kelly.

Bridgton Academy was ranked as the #4 prep school in the US last rankings. Ste Foye and John Abbott College are loaded with the equivalent of 1st year JUCO players. From memory NEDA have only lost two games this year, one of them being a top Canadian University team. Ty Nurse seems to be relishing his role as the starting point guard now that Rob Gagliardi has gone. My guess is that Ty and Roger Dugas will also both end up playing D1.

The thing about these wins are they are against teams that are full of players 1-2 years older, not a huge gap, but from 17 and 18 to 19 and 20 there is a difference.

Let's see:

Josh Howard was a 4 year player at Wake Forest, and just off the top of my head, held a LOT of ACC records. He used to fill up the box-score offensively and defensively, and improved every year from Frosh to Senior. That was before he became an NBA All-Star.

I would certainly be thrilled if Manny's career ended up similarly to Josh Howard's. Minus the stupid marijuana remarks Howard made this past off-season of course... ;)
