View Full Version : Our Zags are nice guys

My 11 yr old son broke his thumb in an AAU basketball game and is in a cast for 4 weeks. Last night he saw Matt Bouldin at a north side store and asked him to sign his cast. Matt was very gracious about signing and said that it had been years since heíd signed a cast, maybe even since he was my sonís age. It really made my sonís day and will make the next few weeks easier to handle as he remembers that encounter.

The funny part? My son was thinking about not asking him because he was wearing a Duke Basketball t-shirt and Duke skullcap at the time and didnít want Matt to feel bad. :p

Thanks Matt! I hope all of our guys remember their influence with these kids and how easy it is to give a kid a thrill.

The 11 yearold in question, known to some as the Littlest Zealot, is a great kid, and this is a super story. I am sure he couldn't wait to get to school today to show off the autograph to his buds.

Over the years, I have heard many stories like this about our Zags. As a fan and season ticket holder, it makes me happy to know that the kids I am supporting are also supporting their community.

Thanks for sharing this story, Zealot!

Matt was also nice enough to sign my 12 year old daughters camera. She didn't have any paper so she gave him that and he signed it for her. She was thrilled. Now we can't use the camera.

I forgot to add....that I can PERSONALLY attest that they are ALL nice guys from when I got their autographs a couple weekends ago. They were all more than happy to sign stuff for me. Made me feel really good.
