Well played thus far. Zags have attempted one trey. SD State has shot very well from three. The "money half" will tell the tale.

Be interesting to see if Zags can run with the Rabbits in the 2nd half.

Gonzaga starters played 14, 17, 17, 18, and 18 minutes in first half while SDSU was 7, 10, 12, 12, 14.

Me thinks that will play to Jacks advantage down the stretch.

41-33 three minutes into the 2nd half.

SD State is a VERY good squad.

Jill Young of SD State is a deadeye from long range.

Rabbits by 8.

Zags get it down to 5 but SD State can put up points in a hurry with great 3-point shooting. Zags are good at 2-pointers, not so much from three.

The only way I see GU winning this is by playing great D. Otherwise, shooting is favoring SD State.

59-52 Rabbits. 7 minutes to go.

Hey BobZag, here is an article from the Sioux Falls Argus Leader. It provides information on Gonzaga and how SDSU should follow their model in finding success in D1 basketball.

Jill Young is 6-8 from afar. Zags pulled within 4 but lost composure and SD State capitalized. Rabbits by 10 now. About 5 minutes left.

Jacks are maintaining lead, but certainly aren't breaking away from Zags.

66-56 with 5:15 left.

I think SDSU is well on its way to being a power. They honestly sound a bit better. This awful weather has me staying off the roads. I'd love to see these Rabbits play.

Again, 4 points down, but can the Zags sustain it? They haven't yet.

Two crunch time shots = Two misses by Gonzaga.

Just not rising to the occasion...yet?

SD State, otoh, is making crunch time shots. A nice 3-point play.

Zags missing all their late game shots.

Rabbits by 7.

1:20 to go. A tall task for the Lady Zags.

The difference is making shots in crunch time.

Zags didn't.

SDSU did.

Kudos to the Rabbits. Well done. Fans have every right to be proud of them.

We love our ladies but it needs to be more than Heather Bowman and not a lot of anyone else. More balance and more crunch time composure/poise.

If the Rabbits have ONE flaw, it's turnovers. A better team will convert these TO's into lots of points.

That said, SDSU should be top-25.

Zags are a VERY good team.

Hope you win out in WCC and we both knock off some BCS schools in the dance.

Amen. Jacks revealed a few faults in both our offense and defense. The Jacks offense seemed to get an open shot on nearly every possession. Lots of drive and dish. And hot from the outside. Letting one player burn your for 22 from the outside is a pattern the mens team has finally clued in on. An you are spot on on your Bowman comment. Inthe second half the Jacks doubled and tripple teamed her but the ball was seldom passed back out. I haven't seen the shooting stats on the rest of the team but they were COLD.

The LZag showed lots of heart but didn't make stops or shots when they needed to.

Thanks to our tough game with Zags and Gophers, SDSU hits #22 in ESPN/Coaches poll.

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/womensbasketball/usatpoll.htm

We apparently made a good impression on the Spokane sports writer, Dave Trimmer had SDSU as #16 on his AP ballot. #26 in the AP poll, but this RabidRabbit hopes to see it there toward the end of the season.

Best of success the rest of the way out Zags!

Dave has been covering HS & College women for years. Plus, he's a native of Montana & a Griz, who have had a successful Women's program for a long time.

He takes his vote seriously; if he voted you high then book it.
