I'm waiting until the end of the season to see, but I bet Ira! hasn't ruled out the NBA or overseas basketball. Stud, stud, stud, whatever he decides to do ...

Who else could make Rob Sacre look like a 97-lb. weakling, as he does in the pic above? Well, maybe not 97 lbs ...

This being an exercise in speculation for the pure thrill of it I'll go with NFL tight end. He would never logically play middle linebacker because that's a position that takes years to develop and his architecture isn't prototypical for a middle linebacker. However much a longshot Ira! would be to make it in the NFL it does intrigue me to wonder how he would do as a tight end. With his height and athleticism it's conceivable. And those long arms!

It's too bad baseball never worked out for him, but middle relievers that throw in the mid-to-high 90's with no control are a dime-a-dozen. And once you develop shoulder problems...

I grew up watching Ron Howard (no, not Opie) play power forward for Seattle U. (no, not the Redhawks) in the 70's. He then was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys, played in a Super Bowl for them on special teams, and eventually came to the Seahawks in their expansion draft. He caught the winning touchdown in the Seahawks' first win ever (exhibition game) and played tight end for them for three seasons.

Similarities between Ron and Ira!:
1. Both attended a Jesuit College in Washington that didn't have a football team.
2. Both played power forward.
3. Both were the most muscular players on their college basketball teams, with both at 6'4".

Differences between Ron and Ira!:
1. Ron was 220 lbs. and Ira! is 235.
2. Ron played for a basketball program that in 1958 went to a Final Four but by the time he joined was going downhill. Ira! plays for a basketball program that in 1958 finally moved from NAIA to NCAA but by the time Ira! joined is going to the Final Four!

He's been a welcome addition to the team. I'm glad we have him. Leadership is important as our Zags go through this season. He's an awful nice guy. Ready smile, firm handshake......just a great guy to have around. And he's a tough customer......"indestructable" says Few. .......he said that about Jeremy too......right after the Georgia game. I guess Few was right. Anyhow, Ira's found a home with us. Wish we had him for a full 4 years.

Ira would need to work on his catching ability to be a tight end. He lost 2 or 3 passes off his hands in the Wazzu game.

What about starting a rap career? ;)

Am I the only one that thinks Ira looks a lot like 50 Cent?
