I can't say I'm rooting for the Pac 10 in this one. A minute left according to CSTV. Wish it were on TV!

Shives has been the spark in the second half, we just need to hit free throws now.

Zags win it.

Courtney and Tiffanie lead the way with 20 and 19.

Good job, girls!

Final 64-59 Zags, Bekkering make a couple late free throws to seal the deal. Love those lady Zags. It appears Heather Bowman played as well. I heard at the game Friday night she was going to start practicing agains this week. Guess the time table moved up. I haven't check the box score yet but I'm sure I saw Bowman name numerous times on Game tracker! Box score says Bowman played 26 minutes.

:D Lady Zags win 64 to 59. Vandersloot led with 20, Shives with 19, Vivian had 10 steals! wow. So much for my 15 point win prediction, but hey any win over the Dawgs taste great.....

Congrat's. It was on the road and from what I hear, GU shot very poorly for most of the game before heating up at the end.

I'm sure Buzz Kill will blame the players and question their toughness.

...but a win is a win. :)

My home is returning back to normal:
1) The cat can come out of hiding.
2) I have cleaned off the computer screen of spit and debris.
3) The neighbors are no longer worried about the noise.
4) The EMT's have left. Blood pressure back to normal.
5) Note to me - replace damaged Lady Zag shirt.
6) Get chair repaired/replaced.
7) Discard under-garments.

Haaaaa, how many more away games are left? No more like this one, please. :)

I could write a book on what I think about this game however, basketball is basketball......this sometimes happens....no rhyme...but lots of reasons. Coach Graves must have ulcers after this one. My one statement is...if the Lady Zags had of shot a normal percentage across the stats then we would have won by 31 points! :o I'll accept the 5 point win however.

I hope to see everyone Wednesday!...have I seen some conflicting times regarding that game?

Go Lady Zags! Play hard, play smart! :)

A huge win for the gals. I'm thrilled to see Shives break out, and Courtney continues to be one of the best guards in the west. Bowman did great when you consider all she just went through.

Zags outrebounded them, turned them over 31 times and out-assisted them. Wow!

Great effort.
Great result.

They'll be a blast to watch this season!

First win over the Dawg's in Seattle? I would say that's a win to feel good about whether it is by 1 or 20.

Just got back to my place from the game. Now that was FUN!!

Not so much in the beginning. We were really cold on shots. Seemed like nothing would fall. I remember looking up at the scoreboard with 10 minutes gone and we had a total of 11 points.

When we fell behind by 10 (17 to 7 I believe), it was not looking good, because nothing was falling. This was one of those character building games where the Lady Zags never gave up and kept coming back. I believe the scores were in the 40's before we took our first lead.

It was good to see Heather in person (my first time). I haven't checked the stats yet, but she was probably off her norm. Understandable, though.

I predict that Coach Graves will have an extended FT drill this week for just about everybody. I could be wrong, but it sure felt that the FT's were not dropping as they should.

I took a few pics with my rather inexpensive camera. With the flash turned off, the shutter time is too long to get good crisp shots, but I thought I'd share some anyway. Here goes.

Coach Graves getting the ladies ready.

Introductions with Viv and Courtney just starting to jump and bump

First period action with Courtney ready for a rebound?

Limited to 4 images. I'll post more in a separate posting.

A few more pics.

Tiffanie's FT's were critical down the stretch.

Janelle contributed to that cushion also.

A good score to show with no time left. :)

Now that was one enjoyable afternoon, ladies!!!

Thanks, Zagineer. Nice pic. I like those road unis.

You are a good poster and a great Zag fan. Will you be over for the Tennessee game? Perhaps someone would be willing to put together a meeting of the board in Spokane?

Someone told me that a good camera setting for the "Bank of America Arena" would be: 1/500th of a second shutter, @f/2.8-f/3.2 aperture, ISO 1600, and a white balance of 3800-4000 degrees Kelvin....if you have a digital camera with manual setting option and a fast lens. Perhaps that may help some of our members.

I heard a rumor that the Zags got another jet for this season. Does anyone know?

so why do the girls have new home uniforms but not new away ones? Seems a little odd, especially because they are different styles...

One particular Freshman, #44, was just stunned and excited to be flying to Washinton on a private jet, she thought the luxury Gonzaga coach that took them to the airport was going 1st class !!!

Have two tics to the Tennessee game for me and Mrs. 'Neer. Row 32. Forgret the section. Can't remember how many rows there are in K2. Haven't been in K2 since the last men's UW game. (Now that was an experience.)

Have two tics to the Memphis game also. So we'll just hang around and take in the 2:00 pm Portland game on Sunday before heading back to the west side.

....I should have known....red, white, and blue decor I'll bet,...with a Bulldog for a steward. Is Coach Graves the pilot? It's great to be a Lady Zag fan! :)
