The GU Men have a shot at an NCAA berth by getting hot at the tail end of the WCC season. They won road games this weekend, 2-1 at Santa Clara and 3-2 in 2 OT's at USF. They sit in third and have a shot at overtaking USF for 2nd, which would probably get them in for the second year in a row.

Critical game at GU is Friday at 1:00 vs 1st place USD.

Others don't, so we will fill in for those at work and cheer our Zags on.
Sounds like a great way to spend a Friday afternoon.

The bid in this weak ass league (at least in men's soccer) is ours! Back off Zags! :)

I think that we are trying to take the bid from USF...Not USD?

USD is in first but mathematically could still blow the automatic berth. 2nd will likely get in. GU was third last year and got in, since the WCC is considered a power conference in mens' soccer.

Zag 77... ToreroStudent is right. The WCC is WAY down in men's soccer this year.

The only NCAA team coming out of the conference will be the winner of the automatic bid.

Here are the latest RPI numbers, if you don't believe me:

Remember, only 48 teams make the men's tournament.

Before last weekend, Gonzaga's RPI was 143 out of 203 teams total. And USF (150) and Santa Clara (151) aren't going to provide much of a boost.
