View Full Version : New stat this year for people to argue about

I'll try and post a new stat at the end of each game this year (much like I did with the plus/minus last season) that is meant to measure the efficiency of each player (taken from a stat used commonly in the European leagues and modified slightly to add weight for 3 PT FGs made). Let the debate begin about its usefulness.:)

Efficiency = (Pts+Rebs+Assts+Stls+Blks)-[{(FG Atts.-[1(2 Pt FG made)+1.5(3 Pt FG Made)]}+(FT Atts.-FT Made)+(Turnovers)]

vs. Wayne State

Daye 21
Downs 19
Brown 17
Heytvelt 16
Pargo 14
Poling 12
Bouldin 10
Goodson 7
Foster 6
Gray 5.5
Gibbs 1
P-Maag 1
Sorenson -1

Azz, are you able to download a box score and pop it into a spreadsheet or do you have to enter the stats by hand ??

some copy and paste into the spreadsheet and then manipulation of the data, but no one has provided a box score that can be easily dropped into a spreadsheet that I've seen.

Thanks AZZ, these are super. I know my next question probably will not be possible, but I thought I would ask.

Is it possible to have a spread sheet with each game individually and then the totals. That would be really fun to track throughout the year (showing trends).

Thanks again.
