I'd try for him if I'm Few--

6-10, 210 lb. Arizona freshman center Jeff Withey is apparently leaving Arizona.

Sources have notified WildcatScoop.com that Withey is not at Arizona’s Wednesday practice, which would confirm reports that the former 4-star prospect from San Diego (CA) Horizon has asked the U of A coaching staff for a release from his scholarship.

Withey’s transfer is a huge blow to a program that is already decimated in the frontcourt. The Wildcats now have Alex Jacobson as the only big man on the roster starting next season.

It shouldn’t be considered a big surprise that Withey is leaving, considering his one-time Arizona 2008 classmates Brandon Jennings and Emmanuel Negedu never even showed up to Tucson.

With Lute Olson’s retirement, Withey now has no one inside the program that he was recruited by.

I posted this link on the general basketball board before I saw Bob's post. Here is a bit more info on Withey's apparent defection:

I don't think this guy is really any better than Andy Poling - a little bigger and more ready to play now as opposed to a red shirt year. Jeremy Tyler was the better player in games against Withey and has much more potential...I think Withey first verballed with Louisville before changing to Arizona and now Tyler has verballed with Louisville. If I was Few I wouldn't consider this guy.

This whole mass exodus thing at AZ is going to leave the new coach with about as much to work with as Paul Wulff @ WSU Football. Troubles in Tucson.

Tom Crean would have been a better example than Wulff. It's different when your players leave on their own as opposed to being expelled from school or get arrested.

I'd take him.

The Arizona games is still dangerous, but it looks more and more easier as the weeks go by. I guess Chase and Hill will leave next.:)
