A couple of us at GUTV are working on a story about the very few people who go to the walk on tryouts and attempt to make the team. We'll give you a pretty good look at what these guys have to go through in their workout, and you might just see the next GU walk on. The story will air in the sports block on Friday's show. 5pm. Channel 15 comcast spokane.

Will you be putting this on the web anywhere for those of us who are out of the Spokane area?

The new walk-on to Gonzaga is a 6'5" Freshman from Portland, Oregon. His name is Michael Hart.

Great video, thanks for posting! Interesting info, too gonzagacfen. Anyone know anything else about Michael Hart? What position did he play in high school? 6'5" walkons are not particularly common.

He played at Jesiut in Portland. He's a wing. Nice guy too.

Yeah, he played in the same league as Andy Poling. He doesn't live on the same floor as the rest of the freshman basketball players but he's living in the same building as them. He's a really good guy to meet. I live across the hall from him. He signed up for a few intermural sports, but now he won't be able to play in them.

It was funny. I called Tommy Lloyd before the show to get the name of the walk-on who made the team, and in true walk-on fashion, he didn't even know his name!
He knew his name was Michael, and that he played at Jesuit, but that's all he knew at the time. I got a good laugh out of that. Welcome to the Zags, Michael Hart.
